After crossing malaysia immigration via tuas stopped at the geylang patah r & r. One of the stalls sells mee rebus.

Be careful of this place during darkening hours. A good friend had his rear window smashed in and his computer [under a pile of papers] swiped.
Keep the car in full and lighted view if you have to stop there.

Guys, anyone knows the best method to transfer money from sg to the malaysia bank for mortgage payments?

Other than cash via ATM method. Which is the best alternative? wired transfer exchange not good right?

Hi, not sure whether is the best method but you can use money changer to transfer money. I use this method when I need to remit money to my bank account and find it worthwhile to pay the $10 fee to save the hassle.

The $10 fee is for max RM10k transfer if you're foreigner in Malaysia. The exchange rate is not bad, I just done one transfer at 2.43 on Friday. But of course must minus the S$10 fee, so the nett rate is less.

Guys, just to share something hilarious. Lets just say one of my neighbours had their relatives over from SG this weekend.
One of the relatives went to the customs booth and alighted for the finger print scan. The officer told her to press 2 fingers
on the scanner but somehow she was so impressed by the officers demonstration that she pressed her 2 digits smartly and
firmly against the window of the custom booth instead.

This must have somehow led to the jam encountered this morning and afternoon as i am sure certain officers and drivers
needed to visit the loo immediately after laughing so hard.

Actually, I can second AP. Bot my parents worked from the age of 16 in clerical jobs, then worked their way up from there, while bringing up siblings, as their fathers were retired.
But then we are Eurasian ... appreciating life and contentment with simple pleasures trumps relentless pursuit of money, which is never enough to provide 'security'. It also meant we lagged behind the Chinese and Ceylon Tamils in wealth gathering to our serious loss.
I do not remember wine as a child or teenager - it was hard liquor then, so in my time we drank beer or vodka with orange, and we laughed at guys who drank whiskey and coke.
We only had parties on birthdays, but there were many birthdays. However, people often dropped by, and food and drink was always found and shared ... the company was a party.
ALL festivals were celebrated, and every culture and all religious practices were respected minutely: so we always got invited out to celebrate every festival. In those days, the word 'Peranakan' was hardly ever used [and if it was referred only to the Peranakan Cina]- so I was never able to put a name to the insanely delicious food that the Fu family served, as to us they were simply 'Chinese'.
When I was growing up, Elvis lived in Katong.

Wow sound so interesting life for Eurasians here...

Thanks Mallow, i always keep everything important out of sight, i also find that sufficiently dark solar film(within legal limits) as well as having rain covers installed on doors help in certain ways to help prevent roving eyes and itchy fingers.
