I agree with u.

TC rates r going up.

Crap thrown @ us.

But v cant do anything

Pasir Ris- Punggol is one of the eight town councils going to increase rate but that is also the one who have been earning enough surplus to invest and lose millions in Lehman brothers few years ago...

There are sufficient instances to show singaporeans conned in JB
..

Including me ..... @ d great car shop?

Do I need to show respect?

Agree it is okay to highlight facts to Singaporeans to be careful in JB..

Im so freaking pissed with my TC.

Lotsa wasteful expenditure imho.

Nobody questions

Thanks for all the information here.
There is almost like one church in every major estate in Singapore.
Which is nearest or convenient church for the Bukit Indah area ?

Thaz about one of the sore points for many RCs who r in Bukit Indah area - no Catholic church or chapel here. One senior couple recommended an online sunday mass service which may be helpful to those who must have their sunday dose of spiritual food http:// thesundaymass.org but find it difficult to do so in Nusajaya. I find it just right for those times I myself cant attend mass at a physical church. Cheers!

Ask friend to get a standard receipt from book shop , anyhow write can already. How custom can verify such thing? If question you tell them you buy from kalonguni man . .. receipt maciam kalonguni style .

Hooray! I just "kang" the second hand dishwasher back to JB home through customs like a breeze. Too late and tired to install it, wait till tomorrow and looking forward to using it. First time owning and using a dishwasher in my life! No more late nights washing or early morning washing of dishes.:D

I don't see how dish washer can be cleaner than manual washing, unless it uses tons of high pressure water. Some things need scrubbing to be clean.

Wondering if the church did try to build one or not.

Congrats . Let us know how good your dishes are. Did you use the causeway or 2nd link.

Really wasted my time and that of my spouse @ SCB Bukit Indah. No wonder the customers are so few over the years. It really sucks.

I am a loyal customer of SCB because when I purchased my houses years ago I took their loans. That time I wanted to put money inside to put for downpayment and instalments. All kinds of questions asked. After 1 day, still call and ask. Then as if not enough, after a few hours, call and ask again for "more details" and asked if I wanna "put aside" some for "insurance" ( shake head )

When I wanted to bank in my cheque for the sales proceed, I was told above RM 850,000 and the HQ ( KL ) will ask a lot of questions. ( huh? ) I took the loan from SCB and sold the house subsequently. Surely SCB has my records and even the profits? Waited for 2 hours to "start an account" just to put the cheque in and again, the manager tried prompting me to 'invest" wah lau eh! When I said no, she threw her shit to the newbie who don't know how to handle the accounts and end up I had to bank in my cheque manually at 1pm. I tot everything is ok

Next day at 11am branch called me when I was in Spore and asked for more details, esp SPA and annual income and job title and addresses again ( wau lau eh! ) and expect me to return with all doc by 2pm failing which my cheque will be rejected. ( faint )

Called up my lawyer who was efficient and got it done and you know what? 12pm they called me again and asked about my spouse details when I was driving around town and had a busy day.

Borrow money got problem. Bank in money also big headache. Welcome to SCB

No choice @ Bukit Indah side.

Must either go
1) Skudai Catholic Centre
2) Immaculate Conception
3) Cathedral
4) Masai
5) St. Josephs @ Plentong

Going by the Allah episode, the Govt surely fears d Catholic Church for whatever reasons.

Yeah the online mass is the only choice. But my mom needs her Daily Mass.

Actually with regards too access to Roman Catholic Churches my other homes in other countries are far more convenient.

In Spore 3 Catholic churches within 10 min driving distance.

Sorry to hear of your problems, but this is not Sg. But nevertheless, all is well in the end.

Do U mind if I ask something personal? Anybody who has bought a property in M'sia may have similar questions if they intend to sell away one day.
1. Are U subject to M'sia income tax for sale of property?
2. Is it advisable to leave the proceeds there to earn fd interest which is higher than Sg at the moment. But pls weigh in the currency fluctuations - RM/S$. S$ has always been stronger.
3. Is interest earned from fd, subject to personal income tax?
4. Or use the proceeds to buy Bursa blue chip shares and get good dividends.
5. Or just leave the money there - money is always on hand, either for renting a condo, or for leisurely spending.

TKIA!

It is same over in China, HK. Rules are set to be broken.

Build a relationship, and the banks will not get you into this trouble.

I usually just buy HK50,000 and throw aside.

If in future UOB Malaysia ask me to buy, I may just buy RM20,000 for fun.

KTM train might be safer in terms of avoiding the jams but may not be early enough to take your son to school.

Can anyone estimate the travelling time needed if I drop my schoolgoing son at JB sentral and he take a public bus across to Woodlands mrt in the morning and also what time is the first bus? About how long is the queue (for those taking public transport) at both immigrations for early morning?

kawan2, for tax on sale of property if they need they will send letter to you or your Malaysia lawyer will inform u. what u cannot run is RPGT. If u got more sales proceed, don't use for leisure la, invest in more properties esp the place where the new mrt station will be.
