Liverpool Supporters fall in here!!! Season 2008/09

Another old red fan reporting. Looks like no new signing coming to Anfield yet. Wished David Villa could come to partner his countryman. Robbie Keane looks like a flop to me.

Anyone know anything about Rafa's latest signing from la liga?

Now not only do the Reds have to worry about the Big 3 they may also have to contend with new arab oil rich Man City. How a club's fortune can turn overnight:eek:

his name is albert riera from espanyol.....he plays as a winger but he didn't do well when hez on loan 2 man city......imo liverpool should not have sign him......

many has their misgivings about Albert Riera but I actually liked the look of him at Man City back then.

remember back then Riera has close dribbling ability to spin past the FB at tight situations ( Chris Waddle alike ), physically strong ( Beneitez will like that ), neat and quick passing.
But one minus - he is not fast at all - so don't expect this guy to receive the ball, run to the byline, and whip in a cross.
He's not a traditional winger, more a left sided cultured midfielder.

I was thinking that Man City got a good buy and I would like to see him at pool.

then I never saw him play again when he returned to Spain. Two years later, if he has improved then I think many peoples would be surprised at this astute signing.

the failure to secure gareth barry is the reason benitez bought albert riera......hez the backup plan.....if hez really that good he should have been the 1st option......& his performance is just average in the la liga.....benitez seems 2 have make a wrong choice again.....

this season should be the make or break season for benetez..

if he cannot make it, he should resign n make way for a better coach.

yes. this yr is his best chance to win the EPL. next season carragher and gerrard lao liao, wouldnt play as well already

perhap,he should just concentrate on winning the elusive EPL for the Reds and let go of the rest of those Cups' competition.

he cant lah, if he does that and doesnt win the EPL, then he got no excuse to give :D

let hope and pray that all our players on international's duty can get back in one piece without any injury.
if not,we are already without S.G and Torres, anymore key players out and we will be in trouble for the match against Man Utd.

hope the DIC can mount another takeover bid as maybe this type round, they will succeed. coz with the economic in US in such a bad shape, the Yankees owners will sure to feel the heat also. and maybe just maybe this time, they will take the offer and go back to US.
we really need someone who is passionate about soccer/football and is a supporter as an owner(s). and of cos the funds that they bring and have.

I think all the supporters are fed up by the two Americans, who promise so much when they take over the club. Till now the building of the new stadium from the start change capacity & now delaying the work due to the increasing costs.
If they really have the interest of the club, just sell to DIC who are more than capable of providing what Liverpool need in terms of stadium & money for player transfer.

Yes, DIC is the Reds best hope and I also hope they bring in Amanda Stavely as well, real cute and sexy:p

Rafa may play Stevie and Torres, even though they are not fully fit.
This is a risky move,it may worsen their injuries and they maybe out for a long period as the match against Man Utd is always competitive, tought and a lot of hard tacklings will be involved.

if we can get something out of this match,it will be a boaster for us in this season.

this is going to be another tough match for us.
it will be tight,as the past results indicate that not more than 3 goals for most matches between us at Anfield.
but with Keanne and Berbatov, they will surely want to show who is better after playing together at Tottenham before their switches.

Come On Reds ! We Can Do It...

Forecast:

Home/Draw/Away: Away win

Score: Liverpool 1 Manchester United 2

I wonder why most pundits like to mention Man Utd play free flowing football against all sides.

I think the last 4 times Man Utd play at Anfield, they have been ultra-negative and boring, not to mention that classic CL Barcelona semi-final away last season.

think who score first will win the match.

Manchester United has been playing better football than Liverpool since the late 80s when Sir Alex took over and Liverpool lost the plot.

not better football,is winning football.
they do not care about the style or performance,it is the winning that counts, thatz why they are successful. same like when Jose was in-charge of Chelsea,he did not care how they play,so long as Chelsea won,he is satisfy and happy. and the points are the most important,as it will decide whether you are champion or others.

Alex is lucky,he was on the verge of being sacked and he was saved from the sacked after he won the FA Cup. He also start off with winning the Cups and it took him about 10 years from 1983 to 1992 to win his first League Title. But I must admit,Man Utd is the team of the past 2 decades.

Rafa to me,is an Cup specialist and his management style may not be suitable for the league. If we were to win a title,I personally do not think he is the man to do it.

talking about better football,Arsenal is the team that always play better and beautiful football with their passing game. but is they successful,no.

tonight, with Gerrard and Torres force back in the team,we will change it.

Perhaps. But don't forget about the fall of Kevin Keegan with Newcastle and England from the mid 90s to early 2000s, when he overemphasized performance and neglected winning.

Hope so. It's getting boring with Manchester United always winning. Just like from the mid 70s to the mid 80s, so boring with Liverpool always winning.

it took Alex about 10 years to win a title and build his foundation.
so who after Alex for Man Utd ???
no successor in sight, who know they may also suffer the same fate with Liverpool after Alex retires.
he also cannot go on forever.
we shall see what will happen after he retires.

I admit,Man Utd is the team of the past 2 decades.
