Like Rafa said, Robbie has finally got the monkey off his back:biggrin: Saw the replay, overall quite a good performance by the Reds although they seemed to take the foot off the gas pedal in the 2nd half and coasted when they were 2-0 up. Saying that this was only the Baggies. Let us see how things pan out in the next 9 EPL games. Fixtures are quite favourable apart from playing the Gooners, so this should tell whether Liverpool is finally mounting a serious challenge for the EPL title.

Spurs did a double on Pool. Wow, Mr. Potter has the midas touch.

Harry Redknapp's magic touch continued with a 4-2 victory over Liverpool at White Hart Lane to secure Tottenham a place in the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup.

As if to illustrate the manager's impact since taking charge 18 days ago, it was two players on the fringes during Redknapp's revolution who turned the tie with three goals in six minutes just before the break against Rafael Benitez's reserves.

Roman Pavlyuchenko, who netted the late winner when Liverpool were beaten by Spurs in the Premier League, opened the scoring with a crisp finish before Fraizer Campbell added his first two for the club since his loan from Manchester United.

The League Cup defeat is a minor insignificant blimp. Even Chelsea went out last night, albeit on penalties.

What is of great concern is the financial mess that the yanks Hicks and Gillet have put Liverpool in, 350m pound debt that needs to be re-financed by Jan, if not the banks take over and the banks themselves are in deep shit over the financial crisis. This is a very serious matter for Liverpool's long term future as a Big 4 club, Reds are staring a Leeds situation soon if it is not careful. Hopefully DIC shall finally be able to step in and clear up this mess, then proceed on with the new stadium and fresh funds to further strengthen an already tight outfit. Worrying times off the field even as the Reds look quite good in both the EPL and CL.

we are not alone,so still it is alright.
Chelsea also went out to Burnley.

but losing twice to Spurs,it is a bit disappointment.
hope we can take it out on Bolton on this weekend.

we are leading 1-0 at Half-Time thru a header by Kyut on 28th minutes.
we are lucky that during the injury time,a goal by Bolton was disallowed else the domination by us will count for nothing again.

Come On Reds !!! Let Finishe It Off By Scoring A Couple In the Beginning Of Second Half !!!

Liverpool won 2-0 against Bolton.
the score may look good but still not very convincing.

another 3 pts in the bag, that is good.

Yes still not that convincing but I shall take the 3 points any which way thank you very much:biggrin: A big plus point was the resilience shown by the Reds, because in previous seasons they would have probably lost this game.

Now not sure how Rafa can fit Torres and Keane together without upsetting the balance of the Torres-Gerrad partnership? It was obvious Torres added that extra spark when he replaced Keane. But how can a 20m pound striker be a bench warmer??

Perhaps when Rafa wants to go for full frontal attack he can have Torres, Keane as strikers; Riera and Kuyt on the wings, Gerrad in the middle and either Mascherano or Alsonso in the hole.

Also think Rafa may need to buy a fast quick pacy full back during the winter transfer window as it was apparent that the Reds back 4 lacked pace when Bolton's Granger came on in the second half, caused them no end of trouble.

The belief appears to be finally there chaps, hope Reds are listening to Barack, "Change, Yes We Can"

Torres is back in action.
he scored in Spain's friendly against Chile.
so can expect a convincing win over Fulham and another 3 pts.

yeah,very happi to hear it.
maybe this time round,Torres and Keane can blend well and both score.

Liverpool's Fernando Torres looks set to make his first Anfield start for almost three weeks against Fulham, but Steven Gerrard will miss out with a groin injury.
Hope our magnificent captain can make it for the CL's against Marseille.

With Gerrard out, Rafa should opt for full frontal attack, play Torres and Keane together, with Riera and Kuyt on the flanks and Masch and Alonso in the middle. 4-4-2. Time to see if 46m pounds sterling worth of talent can finally click together.

Another 2 points wasted and another chance to top the table wasted as well.:( The whole team lacked energy and focus, could not keep possession for long. Keane lacks confidence and Lucas Leiva is useless, should get the boot on his backside:mad: I can't understand why Rafa did not play Alonso from the start and when he finally brought on Alonso why did he not substitute that useless Lucas instead of Masch? Only shinning spark was Torres who showed his class, unfortunately little support from the rest.

Damn lucky Chelsea and Man U both drew score draws as well and Gooners lost again:smile:

Can Keane effectively play with Torres? What do you chaps think? A 20m pounds sterling flop?

Btw just read that Real Madrid may again be interested in getting Rafa Benitez over as manager, as their present german manager is having a very erratic season. Again what do you chaps think?

Keane plays when he is the lone striker/forward.
but he will have to accept that Torres is the main striker, when and if he is not injure.

Reds through to the next stage of the CL with a 1-0 win over Marse, great header by Gerrard but yet another unconvincing overall performance. A Madrid also through so down to last match to determine who qualifies at the top.

This weekend Reds face West Ham, hope for a more lively convincing performance compared to last week against Fulham.

yes, hope they will beat West Ham with at least a 2 goals margin.
even though we won and go thru the next stage,it was not a good performance.

Same old story again chaps. 0-0 at Anfield against West Ham.:(

When Torres and Gerrard do not score it looks like none of the other Reds in attack are able to pick up the slack. Big questions now appear to be looming over Robbie Keane's confidence because for a 20m pounds sterling striker he is not deliverying, big disappointment thus far.

I don't know what it is but for quite afew years nows the Reds have had bad luck with the big name strikers brought to Anfield from way back with Stan Collymore; Anelka; Cisse; Morientes and now Keane. The only big success has been Torres. Bloody jinx:mad:

Only good thing is that Liverpool are back at the top but only by a single point. The big worry is the same old lack of goals and consistent goal scoring support for Torres/Gerrard. If Rafa is unable to dix this problem Reds shall probably not win the EPL this season.
