Serious Lee Wei Ling & Lee Hsien Yang condemns Lee Hsien Loong

If they insist on leaving, he will let them leave. If they want to stay, I don't think he will sue them, but some old senior guy will have to mediate on their behalf and let them settle the matter.

It is pretty clear now that LHY and LWL have nothing of material consequence to LHL and Ho Ching hold on power. It really looks like LHY is scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

As we have seen with all public discords with the PAP and LHL, there is usually some sort of personal unhappiness/dissatisfaction that motivates that person to go against the establishment. They feel hard done over something personal. Eg overlooked for promotion, made to be scapegoat, etc

Very juvenile. In fact, in this particular case I would say that LHY and LWL are very bad to try and play on some Singaporean`s anti-PAP sentiments to try to put pressure on the government to get them what they want. All those accusations about abuse of power and what not....seriously only in context of this Oxley property issue? That's it? Nothing else? No other cases of abuse of power in other areas of government? Really? Pathetic.

Best for LHY to leave as he said. Or else he will look like a fool.

As for LWL she has mental health issues and personality disorder. The more people ask her to leave, the more she will stay. So my guess is they will just ignore her.

If indeed after this episode has lost its story worthiness and nothing has come out of it, nobody will care about what LHY and LWL say anymore.

Lawrence Wong speaks up in defense of LHL

There nothing to lose for both siblings. Wealthy, in retirement mode, nothing to aim for. It's payback and LHL and HC have more to lose. All 3 of HY's sons do not work or rely on the govt. Its not the same for LHL.

Well it does appear they have nothing of real consequence. So it is just personal bicker and slander. Seriously LHY and LWL are starting to look bad. You have to be objective about this.

Nobody really cares whether Oxley is demolished or not. But when LHY said that he has evidence that LHL has abused his power many were smacking their lips in anticipation of MORE than just this silly Oxley property issue.

There are alot of very nervous senior folks in our foreign service right now and they have been on edge since this battle commenced - as much as you may believe that it has been inconsequential there is a genuine sense of anguish because the external damage is irreversible and this ongoing feud has shown how vulnerable and delicate the trade-offs for the system here have been.

This is now getting to be incestious with Patrick Daniel's wife in the supporting cast. Let's see the timing of her appointment to NHB.

Rosa headed NHB early on in 2013. Probably made to go there because she couldn't make it as an AO in the high profile ministries. The heritage and arts people don't consider her one of them. Heritage in this country is being ran like any SME. It's a joke how much money is thrown away just to make the pappies look great with disregard for the people's history.

Anyway Patrick would be retiring soon. He will be kept occupied. Another loyalist, his mentor was Nathan. I am sure he was kept busy in SPH than to go home to that.

When I say inconsequential I am referring to the hold of power that LHL and PAP have and will continue to have.

Internationally, while Singapore itself is worried about how the world sees them, the reality is that we don't really care. Singapore is so small the rest of the world doesn't bother what goes on really.

Within Singapore, Singaporeans continue to support LHL and PAP. The senior foreign service people have been tasked to keep up Singapore's image. Of course. It is their job. Nothing like making some people actually DO SOME WORK! When you are so used to shaking leg and operating on cruise mode, all of a sudden having to actually DO SOMETHING is stressful. No?

it's high time this bunch of jiaklioabee foreign service career-leg shakers feel the fire in their collective rectum. highly paid, highly comfortable, highly ineffectual, highly chobolan, yet highly think of themselves as global movers and shakers. not.

Don't dismiss LHY. If I were him, I would wait till after 3 Jul.

The wild card would be if LHL invites LHY to debate on the floor. But I don't think LHL would dare to do that.

The next gen PAP leaders such as HSK, OYK, NCM, TCJ, DL, JT have all kept quiet. If LHL can't shore up his political support, he might retire early and name the next PM after this saga dies down

Even if LHL steps down as PM he will become SM. We have seen this before. Puppet heads.

And I bet you Ho Ching will remain in charge of the country's money.

It might be even easier for them to do what they do if LHL becomes SM.

(Respectfully speaking) I am very well aware of whether Singapore is consequential or not but you are merely sprouting a view through public lens not the backchannels which is what I am alluding to - and I am speaking not as a typical islander who has only ever lived and worked on this dot - Singapore though a speck still plays a vital role geopolitically which is unknown and underappreciated on the ground. The stress is coming from elements much much closer to us which are directly more important and significant. Laughable as it may sound or come across, there is a very good reason why we have been christened as Israel of Asia in some circles (and it is nothing to do with the Mexicans of the 60s).

they get no sympathies from me. except for one, all are career regurgitators, bean counters and bureaucrats with a penchant for highfalutin and imagining beyond their limited capabilities.

Nor from me but merely trying to point out that there are forces out there relishing this feud - not scaremongering but just stating facts - any sign of weakness is taken as weakness. This debacle has just unearthed how fragile and vulnerable the island is to pressures of external forces who would lean more heavily now - so my comment has nothing to do with serial civil servants but the gathering storm from outside.

What kind of storm? Can you be a bit more specific? Are your suggesting ISIS is going to attack? Malaysia? Indonesia? War? What kind of threat?

It is a fact that Singapore is fragile and vulnerable. There is nothing to unearth on that topic.

well aware of who (in the plural) you're exactly referring to. thanks for the reminder. that's why the very public damage and potential repercussions that are being inflicted by siblings is not in the interest of sg, sinkies, and positive agents of sg, but their own selfish narcissistic obsession. instead of aiding these 2 clowns in promoting their destructive agendas and selfish personal grievances, agents and career serpents of sg in the bureaucracy, former and current, with personal dislike of the current regime should set differences aside and put the national interest first. instead some are coming out of the cowardy woodwork and hiding behind so called anynomity online to add fuel to the greenish wildfire, game of thrones style. they should be ashamed and be exposed. either leave the service or shut up if they can fall so easily to these dual royal clowns' antics and tantrums. the bigger picture and the larger underworld out there is beyond the grasp of these 2 royal bozos and their clueless cheerleaders.
