Serious Lee Wei Ling & Lee Hsien Yang condemns Lee Hsien Loong

Political sophistry by bland and wooden GCT was not an off the cuff remark but something prepared in advanced for insulting the opposition unlike highfalutin as used by a master of the English language.

Wooden wanted to buy some time for himself as he foresaw Chinese helicopter LTK would need to check the dictionary meaning of sophistry before coming up with a retort.

Sylvia or CSM should have stood up to question Wooden which part of LTK's statement was false.

LHY first brought the term "sophistry" into Singapore lexicon a few days before the parliament session in his Facebook posting. GCT copied it and the irony was not lost on some where even after his term he had to be led by one Lee or another.

Years ago, someone who is now in the upper echelons of Public Service when he was serving NS wrote a letter of complaint about abuse of rank by a Senior Officer. That complaint letter had a an interesting word that was an accurate description but unheard of then. Disciplinary action commenced and the Sr Officer was asked to respond. This Sr Officer felt that he needed to show his standard of English and not only the same word was copied but it was laden with bombastic terms. He became the laughing stock for the letter he wrote and was posted to Siberia until his retirement.

GCT did bring back happy memories of idiots.

Lhl probably could have used NHB to gazette the house straightaway but doing so would look bad on him. In order to whitewash himself, and aviod getting his hands dirty in this whole affair, he needs to manipulate public perceptions. Thus lhl sat up a secretive ministerial committee to study or rather to cast doubts on lky' s 'real intention' and announce to the public their 'findings' when the time is right. Only then will NHB comes in.

As for LhY and lwl, washing the dirty luandry in public helps to achieve 2 goals

1. People will probably remember 38 Oxley for all the wrong reasons and it denies Lhl the ability to gain any political capital on lky's legacy.

2. To force Lhl to a private settlement knowing that there will be more to come probably near GE. It will be an albatross round Lhl neck if there is no settlement.

Agree on all points. Good summary bro. Even the foreign press did not come close, sadly. Even the Financial Times of yesterday on the subject erroneously stated in its opening sentence that the siblings "accepted an offer behind closed doors to settle a bitter family feud"

SDP calls on AGC to investigate allegations made against the PM

In response to queries about WP's views on the budget which had been expressed by several parties back in 2012, WP Sylvia Lim responded haughtily:

“But we are in Parliament, they are not. We will make use of the platform we have.” WP Chairman Sylvia Lim's declaration to Lianhe Zaobao on 06 May 2012

CSJ should know his place. SDP should know its place. They are not in Parliament. There's already an "opposition" party in Parliament which has that all important "platform".

Since there's more than enough prima facie evidence that first born had misled if not lied to Parliament, all it needs is for this "opposition" party to lodge a letter of complaint to the Speaker citing first born for Contempt of Parliament and/or breaching Section 31 (o) of the Parliament (Privileges, Immunities and Powers) Act (Chapter 217). If this "opposition" party won't act, CSM can then lodge this complaint, i.e. if he is not muzzled by this "opposition" party. This will start the ball rolling.

Back in September 1996, Lim Boon Heng wanted to cite Ling How Doong for Contempt of Parliament over the definition of the word "subsidy". First born's statements and answers in this saga are far worse than this definition of "subsidy".

Well on behalf of the 30% of Sinkies we can retort by saying that PM Lee's position is one defended by the expected banquet of caprophagy served up without fail by expert cook MPS and the AG kitchen.

Wear a T-shirt that claims:

"I AM ASHAMED OF MY PM, OWNSELF CLEAR OWNSELF."

who cares…damage well and truly done….even if they don't tear down the house it will now always be a huge pus filled cyst on the bum of big bro.

a national symbol of a dishonour, betrayal and self-serving political…..errrrr…...sophistry…..

truly well played by little bro and sis.

Singaporeans can now breathe a sign of relief that the saga has finally reached a close.

The siblings have decided to settle this in private.

I am sure the matter can be settled if each of them learn to give in a bit for the sake of the family.

Just think of it ... If a small family matter cannot be settled, how can one resolve national and international issues that are even more complicated ?

LHL and his secret comittees are not quite ready to give in to LHY, expect next season of Oxleygate to be more exciting than the last one.

This is perhaps one of the longest thread in this forum since it started about a month ago.

What does it show ?

a) You either love LHL or hate him like hell.

b) People are becoming more politically aware and want to engage in political affairs.

c) People are just kaypoh. This saga provides the perfect fodder for the nosy with an irresistible piece of juicy gossip and saucy rumor mill about our PM, our government and the alleged abuse of power.

Tick a, b or c or all of the above.

People do not realize how extreme politics can be. Most also didn't realized that there are cheerleaders to "stir and stir" to keep this event alive and wild. To all involved, it's a job well done.

You want a honest answer? Humans are just inherently kaypoh, tabloids sell! News sell! Did you see the crowd at Sungei Road last evening? NB really one kind...:rolleyes::rolleyes:
