Singapore Army is too small to have Field Marshal. Field Marshal rank is only awarded during war time. There isn't any FM in any country, not even the USA at the moment(peace time). MG Chan although rose up the rank fast, but he still can't overtake the rate which Mr. Lee rose to.

Pardon me, but 23SA was not in Taman Jurong Camp. Only 4 camps over there, Sch of Arty, 22SA, 24SA n Arty HQ. 23SA was in Katib Camp. Before promoted, he (Lta) served a stint in 20SA (Sungei Kadut) as BC.
Year '74, LHL was a captain then attached to Arty HQ. Colonel Gill was the Chief of Arty then.

Sir, it is obvious that you are not a runner, and you are lacking in knowledge in sports science. You are like the old SAF that did a lot of unscientific and damaging things, like water parade right before sleeping, lousy canvas shoes on hard Tarmac etc.

When you run faster, you finish the distance in shorter time. Thhe energy usage rate is high, but total energy used over same distance is the same as someone running at slower speed, and burn energy at lower rate. Wind resistance plays only a small role at human jogging speeds. Physics and sports science 101.

Long distance running damages the knee joint, regardless of fitness level or will power. This is basic bio and sports science. Even the world best runners have to rest properly after running just a few consecutive marathons, so don't bs about rangers running 10 km FBO daily for two months, on top of other tough physical exertions. 2km FBO I can believe. 10 km daily FBO run means 100% failure rate, as no human can finish course.

Was never a fast runner but barely managed a top five finish over 10 years back at the army half marathon. Google "Lactate threshold" and become educated. While overall energy consumption is the same running slow or at threshold speed, the fatigue and recovery cycles differ totally. Physics has little to play. Its your cellular mitochondria that is processing the lactate debt from anaerobic work to aerobic recovery. Which my position re: not running too quickly in the 4am 10km ruck runs. My 2 cents

Nah..the soldiers were fedup that the deceased were only paid to $1250 by the Army...our Battalion contributions already more than that n our pay only $120 pm!
Worse is that in 1 month he wanna us to cut our hair twice! n its crew cut the 1st time!
