Re: Living in JB 3 (Johore)

That is what I meant.
Buy for capital gain only. You do not need to stay in Malaysia to make money. That is the fun part of property investment.

Will not move to JB unless certain area show a drop in crime rate with a rise in job opportunity.

Do not want to be murder in JB just because someone trying to find money to buy a pack of RM2 nasi lemak.

My good old friend stays in a S$30m GCB in White House lane. Has ZERO plan to move to Johor Bahru even though we each bought 2 Semis detached together in East Ledang during its initial launch @ RM 600 + K.

He is a kiasi Sinkie like all of you guys here. Lucky I am mudlander so I love Iskandar. Lets hope more sinkies throw their money into Iskandar so that I no need to work a single day for the rest of my life anymore

That is not the key point.
The key is
"Do not want to be murder in JB just because someone trying to find money to buy a pack of RM2 nasi lemak."

People do crazy stuff when they are hungry and desperate. Even more crazy thing if the one whom are hungry is his family.

Old Uncle finally find someone on the same mind. We all throw in $$$$ to rise the Water level of money tank higher n higher. Why make those investors not stay In M'sia be "Bad Guy"? I hv to hold back some info for those Great Sg Bro take in many eggs in one single project to avoid M'sia both ruling n oppositon party impose new rule n tax on us. Those great investors not staying in M'sia but either Sg or elsewhere. When we make RM1m, they make RM10-20m. Those big guys not stay in M'sia are the captain of the boat sailing toward the next peak at Iskanda. I quote again on shctaw golden advice: Will not move to JB unless certain area show a drop in crime rate with a rise in job opportunity.:)

Re: Living in JB 3 (Johore)

Just because you buy a house; does not meant you become investor overnight.
Just because you buy some shares does not meant you are on same level with Peter Linch.

This is a dog eat dog world. I hope no one have to go through 1985, 1997, 2000 (dotcom bust), 2003 (SARS) and 2007 (Lehman).
But shit happened and we are overdue for another crisis. And when it comes; we will know who are swimming naked all this while.

How come you become Msian already? I thought you said Msia law is something WE can't control up north i.e you're Singaporean? So you're one of the Msians working and earning S$ and calling us sinkie.

Re: Living in JB 3 (Johore)

Almost bought a unit in Reflection. At Perth's Terrace Road.

The unit is facing Swan River; and the view is close to perfect with pub to relax all over the area.

Try Perth, more like Los Angela with many races stay.

Uncle, I have stayed in Perth since 1990 for school and went back to work in 2000. Even though it is perceived to be a fair country in benefits and all, the tax rate is 48.5%. My feeling is that, you worked hard, you get your fair share of "verbal" credit but when the promotion comes, it is never us. Discrimination is there for sure, though unspoken. I chose to come back to Asia for the lifestyle and family.

What you see as a tourist or short stay can be very superficial, IMO.

Re: Living in JB 3 (Johore)

A few years ago. 3 bedroom for AUD760,000. Now it is around AUD1.2m.

Did not buy; as I invest all my money in Singapore. Return percentage wise is the same whether it is Singapore or Perth.

Never attend talks or seminar on property. Like to draw my own conclusion rather get brain wash and buy somewhere in no where.

Very nice view from Reflection.

My fren's relative was a PR but converted to citizenship just to avoid paying high tax..
Now struggling for a living over there.. & regretted to migrate to AUS

Many people are in that scenario now, sold everything and migrated there for kids' education. now regretted as cost of living soar, esp in perth.
PR or citizen still pay damn high tax, tax residency and immigration residency are 2 complete different things. you can be on 457 visa but still be a tax resident in australia. to conclude, i rather work hard, pay my fair dues and take care of my own "benefits" = medical etc, rather than pay 48.5% tax

Just curious, what kind of salary get taxed 48.5%? Last time I saw Australian staff payroll and recall most of the employees earning from 3-4k to around 8k AUD get taxed 20 to 30 something percent only. Some more they have this scheme like our SRS but with no maximum cap meaning technically they can contribute 100% of their salary and hence pay zero percent income tax - that is what i was told by one Australian employee there.
