Re: JB Crimewatch
This was reported in the Star today (although it's in Cheras):
Just last month in Kulai, my sister-in-law was at home alone when she noticed a truck parked at the side road next to her corner unit. The truck occupants, a young couple and their young son (probably 8-10 yo) got out and were chatting outside her home by the roadside, as though actually just chilling out. My sis-in-law meanwhile continued to keep an eye on them by peeping out from her window. Then, probably after having observed her house for a while and noticing no apparent sign of anyone at home, the lady from the truck approached my sis-in-law's gate, opened it and entered compound. My sis-in-law immediately opened her front door and asked the lady what she wanted. She murmured some flimsy excuse that she wanted to get some flower in the garden, but there were no flowers at that time!
So, it seems that criminals are now using the cover of "family unit" to downplay suspicion. Be wary of any suspicious person or persons, or vehicle in your neighbourhood, whether or not they may look harmless (eg. a family). The question really is: what business do they have loitering outside your home when they have no business being there.
This was reported in the Star today (although it's in Cheras):
KUALA LUMPUR: A couple out driving with their six-month-old baby girl were arrested after police found two loaded guns in their car's glove compartment. Personnel in a police patrol car spotted the couple driving their car near Taman Segar, Cheras, at around 5.30pm on Monday and stopped them for a routine check. The baby was on the rear seat.
