They are comfortable because they are not doing their job to govern SG diligently.
They do minimum and let the nature takes its course. That's not what a responsible government shd do.
A responsible govt shd make life better for Singaporeans. CCS has promised to do that..let's hope he succeeds. There is hope in CCS!!

They may seem to increase the headcount in sg and booast the economy, but ultimately we know majority will just leave
sg for greener pastures or return to their homeland.

but if you say importing these foreigners is to increase the sg population, then sgreans will say "BALLS TO YOU!"

Absolutely!!
Many of these people are poor, uncouth, unqualified and unskilled.
They are looking for a better life..that's admirable.
But where can they go? would other countries like Japan, Aus, USA, UK accept them? no way.
So they come to SG, a flawed policy country, which will suffer the consequences in future
The pap knows that this policy is a hot button issue and they are losing the fight. so they resorted to get LKY to add ammunition to their cause.
How long can the pap delay and admit that the migrant policy is flawed?
It's better to cut losses, admit their mistake and take immediate corrective action to right the problems caused

Yes, I agree. But it is a little too late and a little too slow. The damage is still on.
The hardcores have brought in LKY to champion their cause. Hence LKY's recent statement on this issue. We must keep persevering and fight for what we believe is good and right for Singapore.
We must not allow the pap hardcores and LKY to bulldoze through this bad policy
