It has to be said, Israel has no resemblance of the West. It's a apartheid state which treats Palestinians abhorrently. Plus current altercation in gaza is not a war. Wars arevfought among nations. Gaza is not a country. It's under Israeli rule.

Hamas has a flat hierarchy. Between the top and bottom there isn't three layers of command. So plenty of successors with equally or better leadership will take over almost immediately as they are constantly bringing up the next generation with succession planning.
