Am asking this question becos no matter how serious the SMRT screw up & leaves thousands stranded, Saw Phaik Hwa escapes scot free.
She does NOT even apologize or emphatize with SMRT passengers who have suffered at her management's hands. Is she so cold & heartless?
Since SMRT is a Temasek Holdings owned company, would Ho Ching herself have a say as to whom she appoints to head SMRT as CEO???
As a CEO of SMRT, you need to give clear & concise mandates to your immediate subordinates & these subordinates should be able to filter that down to the foot soldiers.
Are those immediate subordinates directly below Saw Phaik Hwa at loggerheads with her such that Saw Phaik Hwa bulldozes everyone down cos she has the protection of Ho Ching no matter how badly she screws up SMRT. Even if her subordinates try to make her see the implications of her bad decisions, she is bo chap type. After all, the Empress Ho Ching has her back.
If the answer is yes, then Ho Ching will NEVER ever ask Saw Phaik Hwa to resign becos she is ka kee lan. Asking Saw Phaik Hwa to resign is a slap on her own face, that is Ho Ching's, if Ho Ching is the one who gave the final go ahead to appoint Saw Phaik Hwa as CEO of SMRT.
From SMRT website, Temasek Holdings owns 54.3% of SMRT Corporation as at 16 May 2011.
Who can verify whether Ho Ching is good friends with Saw Phaik Hwa on a personal basis AND was Ho Ching responsible for giving the final go ahead to appoint Saw Phaik Hwa as CEO???
