No, I wasn't a candidate. I was an assentor. You can volunteer in the next election too. Just go to the party that you like and volunteer. But course, if the party has enough members already, they won't take non-members. It's serious matter though, no child's play with commissioner of oath documentation, preparation, briefing etc. through a week before the day.

Ong Ye Kung was meant to be a backbencher or MOS/PS the most. His credentials are not one that would put him into cabinet. However NTUC heads are always cabinet ministers - LBH, LSS.

Looks like Heng Chee How will be the next to succeed as Minister in PMO and take charge of NTUC.

I'm not referring to PAP when I said minority. Minority are those who supported opposition party that believes in democracy like SDP. As you can see, many professionals young and old joined this party. I'm not trying to sell SDP but I was actually surprise to see its transformation in such a short time. That's why Sun Yet-san must lead the band to overthrow a corrupted and backward Ching regime for the sake of all (Chinese). The good minority must lead the blind majority onto the right track.

It doesn't matter who succeeds Lim Sia Suay to be in charge of NTUC. They are all clones, so it doesn't make one bit of a difference. All they do is to obey his master's voice. Even the PM obeys his master's voice, what's more the NTUC chief. Change will only come after his master's voice depart from this world. And even then, the changes will be slow because all his subjects would not know what to do, they had all along been following instructions, so suddenly when they need to make decisions on their own, they would be lost. The PAP has been talking about how much they have been preparing for succession. Don't believe them one bit. What PAP meant by succession is to put new people into the respective positions. But nothing really changed because these new people like those before them do not make any decisions. All decisions are made by only one man since PAP took power, right up to today. But once fart is gone, those in positions will have to start to learn how to make decisions, it would be a long process and changes will be slow, but at least there will be changes. So meanwhile don't expect anything different from 50 years ago, not until the old fart dies.

I agree. That's why we must not vote for any pap candidate. Even GY lost because he was wearing pap brand. That should be the case. any candidate who associates himself with the pap must be tarnished like the pap because they come from the same mould. so at GE 2016, singaporeans must vote out the pap regardless who the candidates are

Agree. That's why LHL must come out and declare that the pap is gg all out to regain Aljunied. He hopes that by doing so, some ministers (the more dispensible ones like VB, LTY, YI) maybe swayed to step into Aljunied in 2016. LHL will con them by saying that he needs strong calibre ministers to lead the Aljunied challenge. Actually he needs a sacrifice in Aljunied

Aljunied will be led by a 2nd tier minister like LTY, GKK, YI etc. what kind of message wld the pap send if if says it wants to regaing Aljunied but send HY into the lion's den. May only get 20% of the votes
