Supposedly. When GCT inherited the PM post from LKY in 1990, it was a totally different one when LKY was PM. The PM would no longer be the paramount leader in S'pore. That remained with LKY. So on it goes ie when GCT passed the baton to LHL, the PM post is just a little more than a figure head.

LHL = useless Ching emperor (puppet)

LKY = empress dowager (had the real power)

Eunuchs and useless ministers = PAP


It's a dynasty ! And not a republic.

Not necessarily evil..but truly sad state of affairs. LKY may not know it..but most Singaporeans would be different to his death. The running dogs and his cronies will grief for him..but I suspect many Singaporeans would rejoice

You are very perceptive. The PM is supposed to be the leader. So what went wrong in Singapore? Was it LKY's fault? or was it GCT's or LHL's fault.

LKY's fault, because he controls everything. There's nothing that GCT or LHL can do. It's public knowledge that only his wife can exert some form of control over him, and no one else. But analysing it a little deeper, the voters are also at fault, well at least 60% of them in the last GE. Despite knowing that S'pore can only be heading towards more and more sufferings under the PAP, it's being returned to power every GE. The voters had been too thoroughly brainwashed to think that the moment PAP falls, S'pore will become a disaster, in fact, they were made to think that even if one opposition member gets into Parliament, all investors will run away.....blah, blah, blah. Not only that. They succumbed too easily to PAP's seduction of more covered walkways, more lift upgradings, more playgrounds, more this, more that. In other words, the voters were so short sighted to be enticed at the municipal level rather than looking up to see where S'pore as a nation would be under the greedy policies of the PAP. But things are brightening up if the last GE is anything to go by. People, especially the younger ones, are that naive to be bought over by estates upgrading carrots, but rather looking how their lives would continue to go downhill under the PAP. But there's still the 60% who are mistaken that only PAP can govern. Never mind if the PAP is screwing us blind with their greedy policies, it's still PAP that will look after us. Sad isn't?

Yes. As many forummers had posted in the past, the champagne is in the ice bin being chilled and ready to be uncorked the moment his death is announced. Some also say they will light up firecrackers even if that is breaking the law, it's still worthwhile firing crackers even if one has to pay a heft fine.

Okay, majority doesn't mean they are right. We want a democratic republic where the government of that nation's people can monitor or supervise it. We cannot allow another bloody dictator to ruin the state where everyone has a stake in it. Unless, you are telling me that 90% of the pirates wanted a pirate to lead the band and only 10% which are noble people wanted a decent republic ruled by a just law.

A just law and a fake law are different. Even the bible explained that too. There will always be a few bad guys who will want to hoodwink the king to draft an illegal law for their benefits.

So, majority's power have to be stamped out ! It's the responsibility of the minority who are just have to lead or goad the blinded crowd.

Nothing's incredible when it's real. Lily Neo was there too and I enjoyed chatting with her. LKY was just courtesy sideline chat, give him face. All of us were locked inside the the nomination centre for more than three hours, that's procedural. What the hell else had we got to do beside chatting each other up. We're all humans after all, including LKY. He's not god. He's just a tough old man, that I'd give it to him anytime.

The PAP will have to change the way they select a minister then. Granted that no current minister wants to go there, but might not want to even if it was a PAP ward. Eg. Swee Say's hesitancy to East Coast.

It's going to be nearly 5 out of 5 first timers, or at least 4 out of 5, from PAP in Aljunied the next time. A lot of people are queuing up for PAP candidacy still.
