The economy is grinding to a halt well into 2009 and credit is tightening rapidly. Should one even pay even a penny more for a COE car given the following facts:
1. These cars lost their LTA PARF rebates at the age of 10
2. The export market is almost dead
3. Banks are very hesitant to provide car loans for any amount more than the COE rebate amount for these cars
4. The mechanical and electrical conditions of these cars are dubious unless you have a very keen eye and holds a PhD in engineering
5. New cars are cheap cheap now in comparison
Anyone owning a COE car now may face a huge write-down on the value of their cars and any potential customer knowing this fact will shunt away from the purchase. Therefore, should these cars even exist in the market?
