Increase in imported covid-19 cases - only a matter of time before it spreads into the community

The gahmen spend $b on trying to control the number of infected but yet knowingly they just allow these foreigners from high risk countries to enter the country recklessly.

Why do we still allow domestic maids to enter when they are highly infectious ? Will the economy die without maids ?

Yes the economy will collapse without maids.

People cannot go to work. They will have to stay home to look after their parents and children. Who will clean the toilets? Hygiene will suffer badly. More people will fall sick and die.

Singapore will be in very very serious trouble if there were no more maids in SG.

Very serious. Don't play around with fire. This is far more serious threat to national security than islamic terrorists.

How many are actually sick?

if we know that imported cases will compromise our community soon, why let more people come in?

How many are actually sick?

I think Singapore has ZERO sick cases.

All credit to the aliens who are working with the PAP government.

LKY left behind a strong relationship between the PAP and the aliens from the light.

Liddat then Canada, New Zealand, UK & Australia economies collapsed long time ago liao.

Maids are nothing more than cheap labour exploitation by a richer country with no morals.

Canadians and New Zealanders and British and Aussies are not used to maids. It was only for the rich people all along. Poor people don't have maids. Hence it was not so essential.

But in SG it is different. The entire economy is built on the cheap labor. Maids.

If not for maids SG will never have been able to get it's female workforce to work in the 80s.

You don't believe me you go talk to SG people. See what they say. Especially all those with maids. Tell them no more maids. If want live in care pay $3-4k a month. See what the response is.

It is essential service.

Why don't we then also stick to the same principle and just employ cheaper foreign workers to fill up the female work force gaps ?

Why don't we then also stick to the same principle and just employ cheaper foreign workers to fill up the female work force gaps ?

Actually that's what happened eventually.

Look back in history. Back in the 1980s did Singapore have a heavy foreign worker presence?

Nope.

But that was also when the domestic maid schemes came out. The idea was to get women out of the house and go to work. Maid will wash clothes. Cook food. Wash toilets. Iron clothes. Take care of babies. SG women can go to work. And work later hours. No more excuse for needing to go home to do anything. "Just get a maid". Hence why meetings could be held later in the day.

This grew and grew. And the huge numbers of foreign domestic maids meant many many SG women were in the work force. Dual income! Awesome.

The domestic maid scheme made some employers see the light too. Hey if I can hire this excellent maid for $300 a month whey can't I hire foreign workers for my business?

And that spread as well.

Hence everything you guys complain about with foreign workers and influx of cheap foreign labor to fight with SG people comes from the origins of the domestic maid policy.

If you take away the domestic maid policy SG will never have been able to become a first world nation so fast. I am very serious about this.

So don't take away the foundations of the Singapore society, the Singapore economy and the security of Singapore!

SINGAPORE - There were 17 new coronavirus cases confirmed as of Tuesday noon (Jan 12), taking Singapore's total to 58,946.

The cases were all imported and had been placed on stay-home notice or isolated on arrival in Singapore, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

There were no community cases or cases from workers' dormitories.

More details will be announced on Tuesday night.

On Monday, a one-year-old baby and a two-year-old toddler who arrived from India are among the 22 new coronavirus cases confirmed.

The baby is a short-term visit pass holder, while the toddler is a dependant's pass holder. Both girls were asymptomatic and had tested positive for the virus on Sunday.

All of Monday's new cases were imported.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) added that two additional cases have been linked to the NewOcean 6 cluster, which now has a total of 11 confirmed cases.

The two newly linked cases are sea crew who worked on board the bunker tanker. They had been identified as close contacts of a previously confirmed case and were placed on quarantine on Dec 31 last year. They tested positive for the virus on Sunday.

NewOcean 6 ceased all operations after MOH announced that nine cases were linked to the cluster last Tuesday.

The imported cases also include two Singaporeans and two permanent residents who returned from India.

There are also 10 work permit holders, including two foreign domestic workers, who arrived from Bangladesh, India and Indonesia.

Overall, there were eight new cases in the community last week, and nine the week before.

There were also five unlinked cases in the community last week, and three in the previous week.

With 32 cases discharged on Monday, 58,653 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

A total of 67 patients remain in hospital, including one in the intensive care unit, while 165 patients are recuperating in community facilities.

Singapore has had 29 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died of other causes.

SINGAPORE - There were 38 new coronavirus cases confirmed as at noon on Wednesday (Jan 13), including one in a foreign worker dormitory.

This was the first reported case in a workers' dormitory since Dec 15.

The others were imported cases who had been placed on stay-home notice or isolated on arrival in Singapore, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

With the latest update, Singapore has now reported a total of 58,984 Covid-19 infections.

More details will be announced on Wednesday night.

On Tuesday, an 83-year-old Singaporean man who returned from India was among the 17 new coronavirus cases announced.

He was asymptomatic and tested positive for the virus on Monday.

All the cases announced on Tuesday were imported.

They were all serving their stay-home notice or had been isolated on arrival in Singapore, said the MOH.

There were no community cases or infections at workers' dormitories.

The remaining imported cases included two permanent residents who returned from the United States and India, as well as 13 work permit holders who arrived from India, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.

Twelve of the work permit holders were foreign domestic workers.

There was also a special pass holder, a sailor who arrived from Japan on board a vessel.

He was tested on arrival in Singapore and was taken to hospital when his test came back positive, said MOH.

Overall, there were six new cases in the community in the past week, and 11 the week before.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at four cases a week, for the past two weeks.

With 26 cases discharged on Tuesday, 58,679 patients have fully recovered from the disease.

A total of 53 patients remain in hospital, including one in the intensive care unit, while 170 patients are recuperating in community facilities.

Singapore has had 29 deaths from Covid-19 complications, while 15 who tested positive have died of other causes.

If there are no community case, how did the worker in the dormitory get infected? Chances are that he came into contact with one of those imported cases?

Maybe he was infected previously and had a relapse? It's like herpes, once you get it, it stays forever?

By the way, according to PAP/MOH terminology: dorm and community cases are separate categories.

Dorm cases are foreign peasants. Community cases are the landed gentry.

At the rate the covid virus is mutating there is no certainty how infectious or deadly it is to catch the disease now.

Besides the UK strain, scientists have also identified the Brazilian, African and Scandinavian mutation strains. These locally mutated strains could be deadly to different races.

By being so cavalier with border crossings, the fucking pap government is playing roulette with sinkie lives.
