house boat living - paris

The photos may look posh, but it's still very cramp in real life.

OK let's talk Parisien house boat, apart from what Dragon8899 said about it being cramp, it is also very cold in the winter months, air tempreture in Paris during winter is around 0'C or below, it hardly snows & if it does, it melts pretty fast becos like all cities, the heat will melt it but it does get icy along the river seine & living in a house boat is no fun in the cold. According to a friend who use to live in a house boat, the main heat source is a multi fuel burner, one that burns wood or coal & you can also cook on top of it. This friend lived in it during the summer months only & not in the winter!

I wonder if it's possible to convert a Singapore river bumboat & how much mooring fees would be along the river? :D not bad hor, wake up & you're already inside CBD. Maybe Wendy should get one of those Duck Tour amphibious vehicles, best of both worlds, Van & Boat :D

i think the berthing charge is also not as much as in a marina here

Yup definitely. Even living a simple life on a boat will cost an arm and a leg in peesai. Been wanting to own a sailboat and sail the seven seas ever since I was a kid. Maybe someday.

berthing fees don't much this sort of life worth it...uless can park it somewhere close by in JB ? i would imagine they charge less than singapore for berthing

How is screwball involved in this?

no idea.
he has not read all the lawyers letters but feels the need to comment and not say the truth... maybe someone has more power than him
or im just being paranoid... who knows, maybe i will get a knock on my door soon
there is apparently great hatred at facts being spoken

like living in a shoebox.. although this one seems to be bigger that 400sq feet

The bigger ones in the Seine are converted Dutch barges, they are big, not sure how may sq. feet but a lot bigger & longer than your typical narrow river or canal boats.

i think you're sitting duck waiting to be slaughtered. why air your grievances here? now anyone with ulterior intentions know how you look like, where you live. you think you will be able to find a answer here?

if you can't take the pressure, just go away, leave singapore. stop doing harm to your family and yourself.

Not sure what is Scrobal's intention, but he has a lot of time profiling forummers.

My bad experience with houseboat was the motion sickness during peak hours when other boats use the river.

Money brings a lot of headaches.

Do you remember the Singapore Andrew Road robbery/murder?

FYI, if you're thinking of a houseboat, just berth it off Pulau Ubin and take the $2.50 trip bumboat trip to and fro SIN.

getting a berth is a bitch. getting internet access is not so difficult if you have a 3g or 4g mobile hotspot. many smartphones today offer 5 to 8 simultaneous users on its mobile wi-fi feature (mi-fi).

It all depends on the type of house boat you have, the smaller house boats would be able to navigate through the French canal systems like the Canal du Midi & get to the Mediterranean but the Med can get pretty rough & these house boats must stay inland. The larger house boats like the Dutch barge might not be able to navigate through the canal systems & have to take the open water option, down the Bay of Biscay into the Atlantic along Portugal & into the Med. It all really depends on the type of house boat you have & how sea worthy it is.

Put me in my place? If you really believe this then you are to be pitied more than anything else...you actually think forum life and real life are one and the same. You think i stopped the jokes because of you? Dream on baby.

You say my memory is failing me.....you are long on words and short on memory yourself.....i had started a thread to challenge you but there was no response from you...so how did you put me in my place as you say?.

I am fixated on Sam's arse? ....I have met up with many forummers...about 15 now and all of them can vouch that i have no such inclinations..

Scroo....you are just a bitter, judgemental and manipulative guy and many forummers here know this.

Sure you have nothing personal. Believe me people were glad that I put you in your place. Your memory must be failing you. Even Sam found your jokes on offering your backside to him on nearly every thread distasteful. I still see you are still fixated to him sans the offer of the backside.
