Hougang By-election later news up date

[h=1]Ramadan Porridge Distribution[/h]Ramadan is a special month of the year for Muslims all over the world. To many, it is a time of sharing and giving. On the afternoon of 27 July 2013, a porridge distribution was organised for the Muslims and Non-Muslims residents of Hougang SMC; and this was made possible courtesy of a kind sponsor. MP Png Eng Huat was there to help distribute the porridge to his residents.

[h=1]National Day Children's Art Competition 2013[/h]HGCC held our first ‘National Day Children's Art Competition’ on 9 August 2013. Apart from the attractive prizes to be won, we also have other interesting activities such as balloon sculpturing, history quiz and mini games. We also invited a art teacher, Mdm Yiak, to conduct a lesson on the usage of different colouring mediums. The children, accompanied by their family members, gathered as early as around 8am for the registration. Upon collection of their drawing papers and goodie bags, the 50 young participants scattered themselves around the park and started on their art pieces. It has also been a touching experience for our volunteers to witness young children mixing and preparing their own water paints and drawing materials professionally, then started working attentively on their individual drawings. Foods and drinks were sponsored and prepared by our enthusiastic Hougang residents for the young artists and the residents who attended the event. Some of the residents even brought small tables for their children and their young neighbours to draw on. From the art pieces submitted, we are very proud to say that Hougang got talents!
