Hongkie paper slams Singapore: Singaporeans actually not that rich, only FT's are.

Re: Hongkie paper slams Singapore: Singaporeans actually not that rich, only FT's are

Household income adds up income of all family members. HKers are counted with smaller family size. The median income calculates the income of one person.

Singapore is at $3,480.

http://www.mom.gov.sg/statistics-pu...ormation/statistics/Pages/earnings-wages.aspx

HK is $13,000 = S$2,126.

http://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/...n-income-grew-only-10-pc-last-decade?page=all

This is 36% more not "2 times more".

If Singapore prices are "about 20% to 30% more" and income is 36% more, the difference is not that large.

Re: Hongkie paper slams Singapore: Singaporeans actually not that rich, only FT's are

Dumbfuck moronic opposition supporting retard shows how retarded you are. Median is different from Average. Median does not matter how wide the rich poor gap is. Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard just showed the world how he failed basic math. No wonder he is supporting the useless opposition

Click here for a basic math lesson

oops...hahahaha

Re: Hongkie paper slams Singapore: Singaporeans actually not that rich, only FT's are

Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard. 13000 is only for men. For women is only 11000

Combined the 2, the average couple in Hong Kong makes 24000 a month = SGD$3900

Locals median $3,480 * 2 = $6,960 = 87% more

Still not that far from my figure for Household income

Hard truth
IPhone in HK 8% cheaper

Big Mac in HK 30% cheaper

Rice in HK = same

Wages in HK more than 30% less.

My point proven HK cost of living is not cheaper than SG

Well said. I have added to your points.

Re: Hongkie paper slams Singapore: Singaporeans actually not that rich, only FT's are

Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard. Only 22% of locals stay in 3rm flat or smaller. Majority of the population are doing well.

Well researched. I have added to your points.

Re: Hongkie paper slams Singapore: Singaporeans actually not that rich, only FT's are

PAP is doing a fantastic job of running the country. I have shown nothing but facts reinforced with links.

Excellent rebuttal. I have added to your points.

This is dishonest - the article did not say that $13,000 is for men. It mentions that $11,000 is for women, which means for men it is estimated to be around $15,000, although the article did not mention men's median income.

$6,960 is not 87% more than $3,900. If you fault people over maths, do it properly yourself. The correct percent is 78%, even if you were using the wrong figures.

Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard suddenly realize he just helped validate my point and trying to twist and turn. Some more just a few post ago making false accusations against me

This is from your own damn article you fucktard

It specifically stated 13K for men
According to the Census and Statistics Department, the 2001 median monthly income for men was HK$12,000.

But a decade later it was HK$13,000

Here is the one for Women
Women's incomes went up 10 per cent, from HK$10,000 to HK$11,000.

It is totally in line with the median household income that I stated in my very first post in this thread which comes from the official government figures

Median Household income in Hongkong is HKD$22K, roughy SGD $3600

http://www.news.gov.hk/en/categories/finance/html/2013/05/20130527_142244.shtml

Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard cannot take the hard truth that PAP is indeed running the country well and that the average Singaporean is so much better off than the Hongkies

A simple google for every day goods and services in Hong Kong vs Singapore and comparing Hong Kong wages vs Singapore will easily tell you how much better off we are

Even if my calculations was off by 4-5% or even 10% it makes no difference. The wage vs price difference is so great, I can be off by 15% and SG will still be better off

Fair enough I didn't see that part.

But $13K + $11K = $24K is still more than $22K. If $2K is a big difference between $13,000 and $11,000, why is it not a big difference between $24K and $22K?

And if being wrong by 15% is a small matter, what is so big about 8% difference in iphone and 30% difference in big mac?

Despite my one oversight, the debate has been feeble and having to switch to use my statistics further enforces this.

There is no rule to say that you need to inform on adding points, hence do you mind not interrupting and cutting the discussion as it affects the flow. Thanks.

Sure but having to do that not once or twice but 6 times resulted in me missing out some of your fan club member's posts and rebuttals.

Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard. The 22K I used was the official figure from the government. The god damn 24K U used was from a news article which is not as accurate I already gave U the benefit of the doubt and use your 24K instead. Are U really so stupid that you do not understand the significance of the 8% or even 30% difference in pricing?

Here let me spell it out for you. Even a Primary school kid should understand this

SG vs Hong Kong Household income difference
Median household income in Hong Kong = HKD$24000 a month = SGD$3900 <- I am using your higher figure from you, official number is HKD$22K

Locals median $3,480 * 2 = $6,960 <- Official figure is $7,570 I am using the lower number just so U can see how well SG is REALLY doing

$6960/$3900 * 100% - 100% = 78%

Household income difference between SG and Hong Kong is 78%.

Translation, if the price of any goods or services in Hong Kong is not 78% cheaper than in SG, you are better off in SG if you are earning SG wages

Here are the items we checked

IPhone in HK 8% cheaper

Big Mac in HK 30% cheaper

Rice in HK = same

Every single item, U are better off earning SG wages purchasing the items in SG vs earning HK wages purchasing items in HK. Unless U can find all daily goods and services in HK 78% cheaper than in SG on a consistant basis, U are better off in SG. U can keep twisting and turning and showing me all the bullshit U want. Hard truth, every single price and number I used are from official links and websites where you can actually purchase the items from. No lying no manipulation of stats and figures, just good old facts

Even if I factor in CPF we are still better off(roughly 30% higher than HK this is not even accounting for Hong Kong Tax and deductibles). If Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard still does not understand this simple logic, it just shows how retarded he is.

Oh now you say it's 78%. Alright.

No twisting; I am using your stats. In HK iphone 8% cheaper, big mac 77% cheaper (from bakkuttay: HK USD$2.12, SG USD$3.75), salaries 78% lower. Not such a big deal. Talking about twisting, I didn't calculate 78% as 87% then say a whopping 15% difference is not important. Wonder who.

Hard truth, every single price and number I used are from official links and websites where you can actually purchase the items from. No lying no manipulation of stats and figures, just good old facts

Sure, sure.

Even if I factor in CPF we are still better off(roughly 30% higher than HK this is not even accounting for Hong Kong Tax and deductibles).

The $3,480 already factored in CPF. Yes, we know about retards.

Re: Hongkie paper slams Singapore: Singaporeans actually not that rich, only FT's are

How about polling SBF members to choose HK or S'pore.
To me, HK is placed well above S'pore.
Among Asia 4 tigers since 1980, HK always on top of S'pore.

Dumbfuck opposition supporting retard don't even know what you are talking about

In terms of income SG is higher

In terms of cost of living I've already shown SG is better if not at least equal

In terms of property prices HK is higher

In terms of FT, Hong Kongs have just as many from China

In terms of density, although Hong Kong on paper is less dense than SG, fact is Hong Kong is mostly made up of mountainous area and they have to build their house closer and taller than SG making it worse than ours

In terms of Environment, we have haze a few weeks a year. The air pollution in Hong Kong is bad all year round due to factories from Shenzhen

Every single thing U complain about SG, Hong Kong has it worse.

Re: Hongkie paper slams Singapore: Singaporeans actually not that rich, only FT's are

Where's Goh Meng Seng when he's needed? As someone based in HK, he should have good insights on what it is like to live in both countries. Or is he still raving against WP in Facebook and costing PAP points is no longer priority.
