Forest City

Nowadays not many city planners build their air ports in the middle of cities. Even KLIA is some 57 km away from KL sentral. FC targets PRC home market demand for oversea education, wealth and health preservation. Singaporeans could cater for themselves very well already.

We can all see that Forest City is not built with Singapore in mind. The sights has now shifted to China.
It is moving ahead on its own marketing with specialised property investment tours from China.
Check out facebook of Forest City or Iskandar Medini and you can see the pictures there.

Forest City claims that the sales for the first half of this year is 10 billion RMB = RM 6.2 Billion of sales?

wow, if each unit is Rm 1 million average, they sold 6200 units of condo in Forest city within 6 months. Either they anyhow hamtam or my math got problem. To many zeros, easy to be confused. lol. or they sell the phonix hotel to themselves for 5 billion.

Anyone believe in this?

Take everything from the commie Chinks with a heavy dose of salt. When I was in Italy, I ate at some of those Chinks restaurants (mainly they come from Szechuan). Everytime, I'll have to tell them to lower the salt contents in their dishes, but they told me that the Lau Wai (Italians) just love it this way.:*::*:

Good news for the future Forest City residents.
Now they are sandwiched between the ever bright Tuas Mega port on the eastern side and the ever burning coal fueled power plant on the western side. 常年火旺,good Feng Shui!

I am not sure if the sentosa cove and residents around Jurong Island are better off having 24x7 burning petro chemical plants. Also, winds blowing over Singapore is mostly north easterly and south westerly according to monsoon seasons. With SG within an area of less than 30x50 km, no one is too far from polluting plants and ports.

JOHOR BARU: Secoo, a Chinese online platform featuring high-end fashion brands, will make its Southeast Asian debut with a brick-and-mortar flagship store set to open at Forest City's shopping esplanade, the Harbour Commercial Streets.

The store, which houses international luxury goods by Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Givenchy, Cartier, Hermes, Fendi and more, is slated to have its grand opening ceremony in Nov. The 7,500 square metre store, located at the shopping waterfront esplanade, will house 19 retailers. Forest City's commercial development general manager David Cheung said the establishment of the

Secoo store at the Harbour Commercial Streets marks the first move by the China luxury goods online reseller to penetrate the Southeast Asian market. Part of the Forest City project, Harbour Commercial Streets is a dedicated shopping centre within Forest
City's development clusters, housing a wide range of local and international brand names under one roof. "The commercial area is connected to other Forest City developments, such as the Phoenix Hotel, Fun Fun Park indoor zone for children, as well as myriad food and beverage outlets and duty-free stores opening soon," said Cheung.

He added that to get the ball rolling for the Nov grand launch, shoppers can enjoy up to 40 per cent discounts on selected items offered by retailers storewide for the next two weeks," he said. "We expect to get 1,000 visitors a day, and it is estimated that another 50 more retail outlets will open for business here by next year," said Cheung.

The tsunami is coming and there's nothing that can stop it.
Time wait for no man.

:D Those Papaya yaya think that by causing a big 5hr jam will collapse the whole Iskandar in no time . Now China man can fly direct from Shenzhen to JB , maybe next from Beijing , Shanghai , totally bypass SG . Can you imagine the whole of Orchard selling the same things at 3x the price , hotels at few hundreds per night , KTVs , massage ....... if you are a China man , where do you choose to shop and have fun ?
A report few day back say that SG is now coming out with a "SG golden week" just to attract the China man which account for about 40% for the sales in upmarket .

Well, singapore is always different. Sentosa cove got casino on the west to block jurong industry pollutant, and changi airport to fly away those pollutant, is entirely different fengshui. :)

Actually nowadays during weekends, I see that SG Woodlands customs (not sure abt Tuas) is operating at full or close to full capacity, compared to before. Shanmugam is much better than Teo Chee Hean in this aspect. He really means what he says.

So I cant really complain liao, other than to speed up the redevelopment of the Old Woodlands Checkpoint for yet more counters......

Have you ever been to JPO (Johor Premium Outlet) at least for a look?
All you see there are aunties (many from SG) trying to pick out some bargain from the heap of outdated "branded goods", usually on weekends.
Other days, its absolutely quiet.
Wonder will this group of aunties now shift their attention to this new place hopefully to find something not so outdated and most importantly, cheap.
For sure Rosie Ma wouldn't be coming here for that Hermes Birkin bag, she prefer limited edition ones.

No need bashing la, all CG want to do is to attract more gullible sheeps into the trap. Those branded goods connoisseurs know where to find latest and they do not target on them. Those cash rich auntie uncle who buy FC all they know is got a atas shopping mall, sell branded goods, can ady. They cant differentiate btw shenzhen made or ang moh made, but they are easy target.

Apparently, FC is not build with SG in mind, even the marketing is focus heavily in China and so insignificant in SG, unlike the earlier CG project in Danga Bay.
FC has the blessing and support from the Guangzhou provincial govt and claim that this project is part of China's ambitious 1Road 1Belt development.
So here you see Chinese developer selling properties to Chinese nationals overseas with Chinese money routing back to China ultimately.
The Chinese now owns the 4 new islands in FC, they can decide when and what to build there. (wonder MBJB or any authorities do check the works going on in FC).
Finally, all the little dots of the 1Road 1Belt are showing up - the reclaimed islands in South China Sea, the proposed railway line from Guangzhou to Kumming thru Indochina to SG, huge land banks in Johor, deep sea port development in Myanmar and Sri Lanka..............join the dotted lines and you can see the full picture.

Inhabiting Mainlanders by the thousands in MY is probably part of the program.
When you have an apartment block almost fully occupied by Mainlanders, say in KL, it will cause much concerned, uneasiness and even protest by the nationalists(fake and real ones).
But if something similar taking place in some remote island in Johor, the situation will be much different and less of a concern.

I like your fengshui

China tourists in recent years made more than hundred millions man trips and spent over usd 300b annually, a lot on shopping luxurious items that are cheaper overseas.

FC also target the prc needs to shop for cheaper luxurious items. FC just need to capture a small chunk of this market.

Mind you usd 300b is about Singapore's reported accumulated reserve over 50 years.

"In the last four quarters of data, tourism imports were around $320 billion. The corresponding deficit rose from $75 billion in 2013 to over $200 billion in the last four quarters of data according to China Customs and state administration of forex exchange."

Ironically, rich Malaysian Chinese are emigrating whilst the Tiongs are coming to Malaysia (as what some in this thread are predicting). Are those Malaysian Chinese missing something?

Or perhaps the Tiongs are not aware what they are in for?

Or perhaps the Tiongs are not aware what they are in for?
But the Tiongs are a very cunning type of species. They will only go to places where more money can be made. I remember several years ago, I was at the arrival hall of the Mumbai airport before passport clearance. I saw there were ang mohs, Indians, but I'm the only Chinese there.

So, I presume that later on, those emigrated Malaysian Chinese will kick themselves in the ass for leaving their home country. Or can I be wrong? Furthermore, everyday in this forum, I see more and more postings on Tiongs' investments into Malaysia, eg: Fujian university, Kuantan Industrial Park, Malacca's forthcoming port and it's also a given fact that the HSR will use Tiong's trains, etc.

By the way, even that cowboy Duterte is sucking up to the Tiongs now.
