Flash floods in Novena and Thomson 2 days after PUB Chairman given National Day award

Flash floods have occurred again (in less than fifty years) in Novena and Thomson ironically 2 days after PUB Chairman Tan Gee Paw was given the National Day award of the Distinguished Service Order by the PAP regime ostensibly for solving Singapore’s perennial flood problems which sparked a massive outcry among Singaporeans still feeling peeved by the recent spate of flooding.

The National Environment Agency had issued a heavy rain warning on its website while PUB said in the same statement that “flash floods may occur in low-lying areas in the event of heavy rain.”

A netizen has taken some photos of the alleged flooding in Novena along Thomson Road and uploaded it to fuckwarezone here including a short video clip:

According to unconfirmed reports from some netizens, there is flooding in MacPherson Road near the Mazda showroom, Bukit Timah Road and parts of Yishun as well.

PAP Environment Minister Yaacob Ibrahim said last year that such floods occur only “once in fifty years”, but Singapore has been hit by at least five flash floods in the last two months alone with Orchard Road being flooded twice, resulting in millions of dollars of losses and damages.

Instead of apologizing for the failure of his ministry to control the flooding, Mr Yaacob heaped generous praises on PUB for doing the “right” thing and accepted its findings that the floods were caused by “intense storms.”

Despite rising disgruntlement and anger among Singaporeans at the inability of the PAP regime to control the rampant flooding, PAP leaders have blatantly refused to accept any responsibility for it though they are paid the world’s highest salaries.

PAP strongman Lee Kuan Yew even chided Singaporeans for wanting “everything to be perfect” and claimed that the flooding is an “act of God” which “no amount of engineering can prevent.”

At 87 years of age, Lee is paid more than $3 million dollars a year for doing “nothing much except forecasting” as he admitted himself. Unfortunately, Lee’s “forecasting skills” don’t seem to include predicting which parts of Singapore will be hit by flash floods next.
