Exchange Rates for RM

Read from the newspaper that MAS is allowing S$ to weaken against US$. Also, Malaysia has attracted a lot of of foreign investment and that will drive up the demand for RM. Taken together, I'm afraid the exchange rate for S$ to RM may get lower.

Let's see what happen after CNY.

Quite a big drop.... Do you guys think it will hit 2.5 again soon?

Or it will trend down towards 2.4?

Don't forget Malaysia is No. 2 in illegal capital flight. About RM200 billion gets out of the country.
Maybe there won't be big change in rates?

I honestly don't know.

If the illegal capital flight is an on-going thing, with more demand for RM now, logically it should have an impact.

I was charged SGD10 at Dollar Exchange JP for remitting RM1K to a Malaysian.

Previously, I remitted RM10K and wasn't charge SGD10.

I totally forgot about the transaction charge.

All service providers do not impose service charge if the remitting amount is $10K or higher.
