The problem all started when the Sr staffs were retrenched, resigned, retired and asked to leave. When she took over how many senior staff with years of experience and trained by experts from Japan, England and Hong Kong that did not agreed with her was removed and replaced with young people with paper qualifications and have not the slightest idea of how to run a train system. There these young management staff tried to impress her by backstabbing each other, come out with hairbrain ideas or quick fix solutions that did not sound in the long run. Well guess what after 10 years of this type of sh.it from a well oiled and smooth running system she ran it to the ground. Mark my words as long as she is in the helm surrounded by her clueless dogs there will be no improvment.
That was the time I took a serious look at my retirement plan. Then came her waves of cost cutting measures, buying of cheap spares that looks good on paper but can't even last till the next round of preventive maintainance, reduce the manpower to all sections working at skeleton crew level. The last straw came when some of my junior staffs was not satisfied with the way they were graded and the amount they got compare to what their bosses got. They brough it up to the union and HR and they got the same reply " The door is always open". That was when I knew the sh.it has hit the ceiling and I took my earily retirment and joined my fellow former co-workers.​

I'm not surprised lah. I had an army friend who was also a senior tech once at a ST (Singapore Technologies) related company complaining about the company's dark side. The top management were all ex-SAF officers. Guess what, a few good senior techs as well as experienced engineers and senior engineers left and complained of what they were getting were really peanuts compared to hare brained 'management'. All these Ching dynasty style of governance were unfair and corrupted.

Later, this company recruited new suckers to join this company to slave for peanuts. I heard that a few of them left for the private sector, one was now an employer himself.

They are only interested in cost cutting when there is a financial situation! Cost cutting also when sales drop! And if any shit happens, they are not even a bit interested in solving the issue, their main agenda is to get the person responsible and make sure that the top management knows that it is not their fault! When they can't come out with any new idea to increase the next years' sales figure, they again introduce cost cutting measure!

Yes the method works first time n every time......... I hv seen in STech of incompetent pple getting upstairs fast by shifting blame alone resulting in fat cats knowing fuckall about the biz. SMRT is another = not surprising as it is also a monopoly like STech.... n one Polytechnic also got such dirt in most dept esp the library where is it currently run by a academically not so qualified sisterhood of Christian (previous boss put her there was a christian n ditto previous, previous boss......... praised be the lord). This bigot rules with iron fist and exploit her staff to the fullest. Is there a common thread like incompetent women running big org?????????

Cost cutting measure, fans were removed & melt down to basics to form the materials required for the sedan!

If Mah Bow Tan, Raymond Lim n Wong KS were liabilities, this butch Saw is a big one too... shud be removed quick/...

i am not a shareholder, so it does not benefit me. short term increase does not show how good is she, we need to look at smrt 10 years from now to access.

Any CEO that fails to deliver their core business ought to be shot.

Instead of dwelling on a handful of breakdowns, look at the other side of the coin and count the number of incident free journeys Singaporeans have enjoyed over the years.

By any measure, she is outstanding.
 
Exactly, cut back on maintenance, cut back on maintenance staff, buy cheap parts, retrench experienced staff and hire cheaper clueless ones ... all these boost the bottomline ... and corrobrate the story pretty well.
