In 1987 the HK all star team came to Ipoh to play in a charity match organized by the Perak turf club and i was in the club reserve team, Samo Hung was their captain and Michelle Yeoh was their cheerleader.

Hardly recall an England victory over Germany in a major tournament the past 30 yrs. Germany machiam their jinx team. But never know. May just happen this game.

Wah. .. I think the last English victory over Germany was a 5-1 thrashing with Michael Owen scoring a hat trick. That must have been 2001. International friendly game I think.

But for major tournaments, I recall that England beat West Germany at the 1966 World Cup Finals, but lost to West Germany at the 1970 World Cup quarter finals, 2 to 3

But for major tournaments, I recall that England beat West Germany at the 1966 World Cup Finals, but lost to West Germany at the 1970 World Cup quarter finals, 2 to 3

And sadly, that 1966 victory was the one and only time England won the World Cup. Hence that solitary star on their national jersey until today. Hiaz!

I always laugh when England have to face Germany and Argentina. Both arch enemies and will torment England at penalties.

Sadly, they underperformed for decades.

I always wondered why sinkies always support England by default. There was once I went to a friend's house warming and there was another bloke wearing the 3 Lions jersey in prep for a big WC qualifying match that night.

After a few cans of beer I became a bit too sociable and started roasting this stranger for supporting England when they've been absolute shite for decades. My friends later told me he looked as if he wanted to punch me for mocking him. LOL .. I was a bit drunk then so I couldn't tell.

Then after the house warming party we headed to Mhd Sultan and caught the final 30 minutes of that England match. The pubs were crowded as fuck. And that was the night Beckham curled the last minute free kick into Greece's goal to qualify for the Japan-Korea WC... Everyone on Mhd Sultan went crazy like the kallang roar was back.
