Spain captain Iker Casillas was present at the unveiling of the official match ball for the final of Euro 2012 in Madrid on Wednesday.
The Adidas Tango 12 Finale took two years to develop and, according to its manufacturer, is the most tested ball it has ever produced.
In terms of design, it is a modern interpretation of the balls used during major international tournaments during the 1980s.
However, the two host nations, Ukraine and Poland, are also represented in the graphics.
The Tango 12 Finale will now embark on a "virtual tour" through every participating nation over the next month as part of a Facebook campaign aimed at giving fans the chance to win a host of Euro 2012-related prizes, including match tickets.
Euro 2012 gets under way on June 8, with the final scheduled to take place in Kiev on July 1.
As Prandelli confirms Balotelli, Di Natale & Cassano, Italy now have the firepower to make their mark on Euro 2012
All three players were in very real danger of missing this summer's tournament in Poland and Ukraine for varying reasons, but they will all be included in the Azzurri squad

“There will be not be any surprises in the squad,” Italy coach Cesare Prandelli said of his soon-to-be-announced Euro 2012 selection. He then proceeded to reveal that three of his probable five striking berths will be filled by a 34-year-old who has not represented his country in two years; a player who has only just returned to action after heart surgery; and a youngster with a chip on both shoulders.
So, no surprises then, only gambles? Well, not quite, because Antonio Di Natale, Antonio Cassano and Mario Balotelli are all undeniably worthy of their places in the Azzurri squad.
In truth, that Di Natale’s participation in Euro 2012 was ever in doubt is actually farcical. Indeed, if we are to embrace the rationale that strikers should be judged solely on their goalscoring record, the Udinese captain is the best forward Prandelli currently has at his disposal, having netted 79 times in his past three Serie A campaigns.

Di Natale is versatile, elusive, quick and, most importantly of all, clinical. His age, therefore, should not even come into the equation – and yet this is a player who has been in international exile since the 2010 World Cup.
The obvious issue now is that he will have little time to build up an understanding with his potential strike partners, but this is a problem all of Prandelli’s making, given that he ignored the Udinese hitman’s claims for the best part of two years. Still, what’s done is done and Azzurri supporters should just be grateful for the fact that the best finisher in Italy has finally earned a recall. Better late than never, as they say.
Of course, part of the reason that Di Natale was overlooked for so long was that Italy were doing just fine without him. Prandelli knew that he needed to rebuild after the country’s disastrous World Cup campaign in South Africa and he wisely elected to construct his side around the mercurial talents of Antonio Cassano, who was so stubbornly omitted by predecessor Marcello Lippi.
The much-maligned Barese responded wonderfully to his return to the international fold, putting in a succession of stellar showings as the Azzurri clinched qualification for Euro 2012 with two rounds to spare.
However, the most fruitful spell of Cassano’s eventful career to date was cruelly interrupted by illness, the AC Milan forward suffering a minor stroke after a Serie A clash with Roma last October which necessitated an emergency heart procedure.
It was assumed for months that his season was over but the 29-year-old made a rapid recovery and returned to action at the start of April, turning in three encouraging cameo appearances before marking his first start for the Rossoneri in nearly six months with a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win at Siena.
He clearly remains short on match fitness – a constant problem for Cassano during his lost years - and it is telling that Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri only used him as a substitute in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina against Inter.
However, he effectively sealed his place in the squad that day in Tuscany because Prandelli simply does have another player with the same invention and ingenuity within his ranks. Cassano’s is a talent which simply cannot be overlooked.
Welcome back | Prandelli is to recall Balotelli for Euro 2012 after dropping him in February
The same could also be said of Balotelli. Barring a complete mental breakdown, which, admittedly, was not beyond the realms of possibility, the Manchester City striker was always going to be included in Prandelli’s panel.
Yes, the 21-year-old was omitted from the squad to face the United States in February but that always looked like an obvious attempt to force the “agitated” Balotelli to get his act together. It did not really work, when one considers the player’s senseless sending-off against Arsenal last month has effectively resulted in him being frozen out at Eastlands.
However, he has been making all the right noises of late about taking responsibility for his actions and making amends at the Euros. He also reportedly sent apologetic texts the way of Prandelli. But then, even if Balotelli had not expressed such remorse, it is probable that he would have been given a second chance anyway. The Palermo native boasts both power and presence, qualities not readily available to Prandelli elsewhere.
In that regard, Balotelli is just like Di Natale and Cassano in that he offers something different. It is therefore not in the least bit surprising that Prandelli has decided to pin his Euro 2012 hopes on the trio. Gambles, though? No, more like calculated risks.

Greece coach Fernando Santos has announced a provisional 12-man squad for Euro 2012.
Celtic striker Georgios Samaras and Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos are among the players who made the list, which is comprised of foreign-based footballers only. Santos will announce the rest of his Euro 2012 squad on May 17.
Greece, who finished at the top of their qualifying group, have been drawn with Poland, Russia and Czech Republic in this summer's showpiece.
The Euro 2004 champions' pre-tournament base camp will be located in the Austrian town of Kitzbuhel, where they will play friendly matches against Slovenia and Armenia.
KIEV — A Ukrainian women's rights activist stripped to the waist and seized the Euro 2012 football trophy while it was on public display in Kiev this weekend to protest the forthcoming monthlong championship.
The young woman, Yulia Kovpachik, 23, is a member of the Kiev-based Femen women's rights group, which believes that the Euro 2012 tournament being played in Ukraine next month will encourage sex tourism.
Kovpachik strode up to the silver, 60-centimeter-high trophy, which was on display as a tourist attraction in an open-air exhibition in central Kiev, ostensibly to be photographed alongside it like hundreds of other sightseers.
But she then pulled down her red T-shirt to reveal the words "[expletive] Euro 2012" scrawled on her torso. As she grabbed hold of the cup with both hands, she was seized by security guards, who appeared to have had advanced warning of the protest.
They covered her with a sheet and took her off to a waiting police car.
The protest on Saturday appeared to be the first action in a campaign against the championship by Femen, which regularly stages bare-breast protests in Ukraine — and sometimes beyond — to highlight what it sees as political injustice, social abuse and the exploitation of women in Ukraine. Femen says Euro 2012 — which Ukraine is co-hosting with Poland; the final will be in Kiev on July 1 — will be a magnet for sex tourists and feed a booming sex industry.
About 1 million foreign tourists are expected in Ukraine for the Euros.
Organizers said the 8-kilogram Henri Delaunay cup was undamaged, although Kovpachik appeared to topple back under its weight as security guards seized her. It was put back on display after the incident.
Femen's spokeswoman, Anna Gutsol, said Kovpachik, who staged the protest on her 23rd birthday, was released after being told she would have to appear in court Monday on a charge of hooliganism. The charge carries a maximum fine of 800 hryvna ($100) and 15 days detention.
Conscious of Ukraine's growing reputation as a new destination for sex tourism, Euro 2012 organizers say they are taking steps to curb prostitution during the tournament.
After Kovpachik's protest, Femen activist Olexandra Shevchenko told reporters: "We came here today to stop this Euro fan lowlife from making a bordello out of Ukraine." City authorities have mounted the trophy in a temporary exhibition area on Kiev's Independence Square.
Hundreds of sightseers were lining up under the blazing sun for souvenir photographs alongside it when Kovpachik staged her demonstration. Independence Square itself will be the center of a huge "fan zone" during Euro 2012, capable of holding tens of thousands of football fans.

Czech Republic head coach Michal Bilek has named his provisional squad for the 2012 European Championship
The 24-man list is very much as expected, with star names such as Chelsea's Petr Cech, Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky, Galatasaray striker Milan Baros and Bordeaux's Jaroslav Plasil all making the squad.
CSKA Moscow striker Tomas Necid is also included despite not making an appearance for the national side since June 2011.
One player who misses out is Ladislav Krejci. The 19-year-old has been in sparkling form for Sparta Prague this season, but the fleet-footed winger has failed to make the grade.
All of the players named are expected to take their place in Poland and Ukraine, apart from goalkeeper Tomas Grigar, who is likely to miss out as Bilek will already have three shot-stoppers at his disposal.
Czech Republic have been placed in Group A alongside Poland, Russia and Greece.

Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli has named his provisional 31-man squad for Euro 2012.
AC Milan striker Antonio Cassano features in the list after spending most of the campaign on the sidelines recovering from surgery on a heart problem.
Rubin Kazan defender Salvatore Bocchetti and Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale are also on the roster despite not having been called up by Prandelli before.
Pescara's Marco Verratti, Bologna midfielder Alessandro Diamanti, Siena striker Mattia Destro, Juventus' Emanuele Giaccherini and Atalanta winger Ezequiel Schelotto could debut for the national team at senior level after being called up for the first time.
Prandelli will announce the final 23-man squad for Euro 2012 on May 29. Italy have been drawn with Spain, Republic of Ireland and Croatia for Poland and Ukraine.

France boss Laurent Blanc has included Loic Remy in his provisional squad for Euro 2012, even though the Marseille striker will not be fit for the start of the tournament.
The 25-year-old forward suffered a thigh injury in his club's clash with Auxerre on Sunday andwill be out of action for four weeks.
However, Blanc has named Remy in the 15-strong panel of Ligue 1 players he is considering taking with him to Poland and Ukraine.
"It's a pretty serious injury," Blanc said during a press conference. "There has been contact with the OM coaching staff.
"So, we could have eliminated Loic today [Tuesday], or given him the chance to get back and we opted for the latter.
"He will join us on Friday morning, so we can follow his progress, and we will make a decision on May 28."
Lyon attacking midfielder Yoann Gourcuff has also been included in spite of the fact that he has struggled for both form and fitness this season.
"During his long absence, nobody has emerged [to take his place]," Blanc argued. "He can play No.10, but also at No.8.
"His club record is indefensible. But in his last two years, his record in the France team is satisfactory."
Paris Saint-Germain captain Mamadou Sakho has been omitted on account of his recent injury problems, creating room for Montpellier centre-back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
"Mapou has had a great season," Blanc enthused. "He has also benefited from favourable circumstances, but good for him.
"Mamadou is having a difficult time. With the injury of [Younes] Kaboul, we needed a fourth defender capable of playing right away.
"Given the season he has had, it is estimated that Yanga-Mbiwa is better able to fulfil that role."
Blanc last week announced the 12 overseas players in contention for a place in his final Euro 2012 squad, with France scheduled to kick off their campaign against England in Donetsk on June 11 before then tackling Ukraine and Sweden.

Sweden coach Erik Hamren has left out young striker John Guidetti from his 23-man squad for Euro 2012.
The 20-year-old, who is owned by Manchester City, had been strongly tipped to make the squad after an impressive season on loan at Feyenoord, but failed to make the cut because of an injury.
However, Johan Elmander, who suffered a suspected serious foot injury in Galatasaray's goalless draw with Fenerbahce at the weekend, has been included in Hamren's side.
"Our doctor Leif Sward estimates that there is a big chance that Elmander will be back to full fitness for the matches at Euro 2012," Hamren told reporters at a press conference.
"There was no chance that Guidetti would be able to take part due to an injury."
Sweden have been drawn in Group D with Ukraine, France and England. Prior to the tournament, Hamren's men will play two friendly matches, against Iceland and Serbia.

Besiktas midfielder Manuel Fernandes has been left out of Paulo Bento's 23-man Portugalsquad for Euro 2012.
The 26-year-old's omission is the biggest shock to come from the announcement, after he enjoyed an impressive season with the Turkish club.
Somewhat surprise inclusions come in the form of Sporting de Braga duo Miguel Lopes and Custodio, while Benfica striker Nelson Oliveira also features on the list after making his debut for the national team in February's friendly against Poland.
Portugal have been drawn in the so-called 'group of death' along with Germany, Netherlands and Denmark.
Before the Seleccao travel to their Euro training camp in the Polish town of Opalenica, they will play two friendly matches on home soil, against Macedonia and Turkey.

Arsenal teenager Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the shock inclusion in England’s Euro 2012squad.
The 18-year-old midfielder has won his first call-up to the senior squad despite starting only six Premier League and three Champion League matches in his first top flight campaign.
John Terry is also included at the expense of Rio Ferdinand in the 23-man squad selected by Roy Hodgson and announced by the Football Association at 1pm on Wednesday.
Other notable selections include Norwich City’s John Ruddy as one of the two reserve goalkeepers, Stewart Downing in midfield and Jermain Defoe and Andy Carroll up front, despite seasons in which the two strikers regularly failed to make the starting XI at their respective clubs.
Theo Walcott and Scott Parker have also been selected despite carrying injuries going into the tournament.
Daniel Sturridge, Aaron Lennon, Michael Carrick, Peter Crouch, Bobby Zamora, Micah Richards, Phil Jagielka and Grant Holt are among the other players who failed to make the final cut, while Kyle Walker misses out through injury.
Hodgson will take three goalkeepers, seven defenders, nine midfielders and four centre-forwards to Poland and Ukraine.
In defence, the four centre-halves chosen are Joleon Lescott, Gary Cahill, Phil Jones and Terry, who has been given the nod despite losing the England captaincy earlier this year after being charged with alleged racist abuse, for which he will stand trial nine days after Euro 2012 ends.
Jones will also provide cover for Glen Johnson at right-back, while Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines have been selected for the left-back positions.
In goal, Rob Green and Ruddy will provide back-up to established first choice Joe Hart.
In midfield, Hodgson has selected Downing, Parker, Walcott, Gareth Barry, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ashley Young.
Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Carroll and Defoe have been chosen to play up front.
England have also put five players on stand-by in case there are pull-outs before the final Uefa squad deadline on May 29. They are Jack Butland, Jordan Henderson, Adam Johnson, Jagielka and Sturridge.
