TCC was rather rigid in the manner that he handled issues such as student protests, foreign and local lecturers and other similar issues. He became a political timebomb for the PAP and they had to let him go. Its came to a stage where well regarded people were resigning from his ministries.

He however was instrumental in moving various parties towards a common agenda in London during his student days. He is also the architect of the infamous PAP cadre system. A legacy which I am sure he regrets till this day.

To be frank, if TCC was running the show, 111 won't be arrested, it wouild be more like 11,100.

The guy was an exceptional control freak.

LCM passed away about 2001. Yes, he had an eye for SYTs and that got him into trouble with LKY. His wife divorced him. He remarried, to someone a third his age. Oddly, when his 50 something ex-wife and the 30 something new wife stood next to each other on stage to accept the toast from guests at LCM's daughter's wedding, the ex-wife actually looked better.
