The delivery guys may have carried the fridge upside down causing the "gas" to escape.

my Acma portable aircon last 15 years.Even the day i dispose it, it was still functioning except the blower blade is rusty.

Ditto for my F&P. Fisher & Paykel fridges are very durable.
