After JBJ won the 1981 Anson by-election, it set a precedent i.e. PAP has never again held a complete monopoly of all the seats in Parliament till today![

Many people within the PAP and other parties, actually had very high respects for JBJ for his integrity and sheer support for the down-trodden.

JBJ was surely much more eloquent (in off the cuff speeches) than other PAP leaders, including LKY.

He was a once highly respected District Judge before and fought and won many cases in Court as a lawyer.

He also carried a name that was widely respected in all countries where basic human-rights is a norm.

Name me any case where LKY won laurels!!!!!

However, sadly Kenneth gave the father a poor name when he came into the recent PE By-election.

He should have stayed away from that turf and concentrated where he first stood under the REFORM PARTY.

Whatever it is, JBJ and LKY will always be remembered by the masses.

what is obvious to you may not be obvious to others. what is obvious to others may not be obvious to you. so be empathising and say what you know so that others can benefit from your wisdom rather than keeping quiet and assuming that others know what you know too.

if all of us know what you know, pap wld not be able to get 60% at GE 2011..so we must help those who read Straits Times only and think that the PAP is the World's No 1 and best govt

It is a tragedy for Singapore and Singaporeans that the SG govt sees it fit to favour and take care of foreigners instead of working for Singaporeans well being.

A double tragedy is when the SG govt accuses Singaporeans who champion "A Singaporeans First" policy as xenophobic. There is nothing wrong with Singaporeans asking for a "Singaporeans First in SG". In fact it is right to ask for a Singaporeans First policy

It wld be xenophobic if we abuse foreigners but to favour Sinagporeans rather than foreigners in our own country is the right thing to do. Almost every country, except the SG govt, favours its citizens.

Let's go to HLP on 1st May and protest against the SG govt favouring foreigners policy. If we keep quiet, things will not change.

So let's voice our protest!

Yes..you got it right. Singaporeans are not against foreigners. But many Singaporeans are against:

1. The pap's recklessness in letting in such a huge influx of foreigners without due consideration to SG's transport infrastructure, hospital beds, limited food and water resources, limited land area, etc

2. PAP's carelessness in not vetting the quality and types of foreigners allowed into SG..was there criminal record checks, qualification checks, etc?

3. PAP's lack of ability and thoroughness in formulating policies

4. PAP's arrogance and lack of transparency when questioned abt their mistakes in letting in so many bad migrants in the last few years

5. PAP's abuse, thinking that they have Singaporeans' mandate to let in more poor quality migrants thereby destroying Singapore's social harmony and SG's future

LKY thinks he is "god" and tries do social engineering with Singaporeans to make the SG he wants. LKY and the PAP must humble themselves and know they are mere mortals, no more than the next man beside him.
