[COVID-19 Virus] The Sinkies are fucked Thread.

My greatest fear is the Delta variant may mutate to a more aggressive virus variant that attacks children more than seniors.

If that happens, all hell breaks loose.

My take is that we have underestimated the malignancy and pervasiveness of the Delta virus and put too much confidence in the vaccination.

What we are doing now is damage control.

SINGAPORE - Singapore's Covid-19 vaccine booster shot programme will begin next Tuesday (Sept 14).

This is for seniors aged 60 years and above, as well as residents of aged-care facilities, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Friday. Those who are moderately to severely immunocompromised are also included, added the ministry, which announced the programme on Sept 3.

Seniors who have completed their two-dose vaccination regimen at least six months ago will be invited to receive their booster dose of an mRNA vaccine with SMSes sent to their mobile numbers that they had registered with earlier, said MOH in its statement.

They can then book a new appointment at this website. Eligible residents of aged-care facilities can also expect to receive their booster dose in the coming weeks, said MOH.

At a virtual press conference by the multi-ministry task force on Covid-19 on Friday, Trade and Industry Minister Gan Kim Yong urged those eligible for booster shots to sign up for them when they receive the notification to do so.

The Expert Committee on Covid-19 Vaccination had last week recommended that seniors should receive their booster shots six to nine months after completing their two-dose vaccination regimen.

The committee had said that seniors may develop a lower immune response to the initial two doses of vaccines, and immunity has also been observed to decline over time.

Your greatest fear will come true. Viruses mutate . That’s what they do best.

and when borders open soon, more variants will come in .

so hide at home . Bolt the doors . shut the windows . Never ever come out again because it’s endemic

one tiny mistake will kill you and your family .

You are right. What's the point of announcing daily numbers? Sinkees with brains the size of a pea can never wrap their thoughts around the idea that vaccines have rendered COVID toothless and downgraded the disease to be like the common cold. And there are many of them. You can see the evidence of that here.

Even after an overwhelming campaign to instil the fact that vaccines protect against serious illness and death, the morons still insist that the number of breakthrough infections show vaccinations to be ineffective.

Numbers should only be made available on a need to know basis by a select few such as healthcare providers and policy makers.

When they are released wholesale to the general population, they do nothing but cause panic and fuel crazy conspiracies. Never underestimate the stupidity of Sinkees.

And yes... endemic means endemic.

Unless MTF aim is to scare the stubborn old folks to come forth and vaccinate . If that’s true then their policy is backfiring . These people will never listen to reason because they have equally retarded children who tell them vaccines are dangerous.

enough is enough . If those eligible choose not to vaccinate then by all means let them die. all of us held hostage by these 18%.

after all … someone here always preach patient autonomy . If they want to die let them die. I am really fed up with these clowns

Fitness instructor who recovered from Covid undergoes heart transplant after virus lay dormant in his body and attacked his organs six months later

  • Derek Stipetich from Pittsburgh had only mild symptoms when he caught COVID
  • However, the symptoms lingered and appeared to worsen over months
  • He was reassured by doctors that everything was fine but his health declined
  • Another hospital visit brought the news that he was ill with cardiogenic shock
  • The life-threatening condition in which your heart suddenly can't pump enough blood to meet your body's needs
  • Stipetich underwent a successful heart transplant and is recovering well
  • Doctors say his case appears to be a first as Covid lay dormant in his body for months before attacking his heart
A fitness instructor who had recovered from Covid-19 was forced to have a heart transplant six months later after the virus resurfaced in his body and attacked his organs.

Doctors told Derek Stipetich, of Pittsburgh, that the virus had attacked his heart, leaving them with a transplant as the only option, KDKA reported.

Prior to testing positive for coronavirus last November, before a vaccine was available, Stipetich was very active as a fitness instructor as well as a skier. His symptoms at first were mild but began to worsen, prompting concern from his wife and daughters.

'The weights that I was regularly using were entirely too heavy for me,' Stipetich told KDKA. His family urged him to go back to his doctors.

Although physicians reassured him in January that everything was fine, his health declined. In April, he came down with a cold that left him feeling like he was 'suffocating', he told the outlet.

Believing he may have Covid again, Stipetich, 48, returned to the hospital where he was told he was seriously ill and had cardiogenic shock - a life-threatening condition in which the heart suddenly can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs.

'Throughout all these tests, they came back and said, there is nothing more that they can do for me,' Stipetich said.

A heart specialist told the outlet that Stipetich's case was a first: The virus appeared to have been dormant in his body for months before attacking his heart.

Stipetich's energy is starting to return and he has turned his attention to a business he began prior to his illness, which had now been turned into a non-profit helping heart transplant recipients

His kidneys and liver also were failing.

'His heart had given way to a point that he needed to have his life sustained by a mechanical heart pump,' Dr. Azam Hadi, an advanced heart failure cardiologist at Allegheny Health Network who treated Stipetich, told KDKA.

'We were able to turn his shock process around to a point where he recovered his organs except his heart.'

Stipetich waited eight days for a donor heart and is recovering well, despite difficulties with his mobility.

His energy is starting to return and he has turned his attention to a non-profit he created to help heart transplant recipients. Pumping Adrenaline Beating All Odds will assist those whose illnesses are associated with Covid-19.

Vaccines should be made mandatory much like the wearing of masks in public.

We have a 90% vaccinated population (if we don't include children below 12 not vaccinated). It's time to open up and live with COVID. Endemic means endemic.

New Study Finds More Than A Third Of COVID-19 Patients Have Symptoms Months Later

"Symptoms of COVID-19 persist or recur months after diagnosis for more than a third of all people who get the illness, a new study finds, potentially pushing the number of so-called long COVID cases higher than previously thought.

In the study published Tuesday in the journal PLOS Medicine, researchers found that about 36% of those studied still reported COVID-like symptoms three and six months after diagnosis. Most previous studies have estimated lingering post-COVID symptoms in 10% to 30% of patients.

The study, led by University of Oxford scientists in the United Kingdom, searched anonymized data from millions of electronic health records, primarily in the United States, to identify a study group of 273,618 patients with COVID-19 and 114,449 patients with influenza as a control.

Although long COVID is poorly defined, the researchers looked at such symptoms as chest/throat pain, abnormal breathing, abdominal symptoms, fatigue, depression, headaches, cognitive dysfunction and muscle pain.

"The research found that over 1 in 3 patients had one or more features of long-COVID recorded between 3 and 6 months after a diagnosis of COVID-19," the authors concluded

The researchers also found that of those who had long COVID three to six months after diagnosis, roughly 40% had no record of such symptoms in the prior three months.

Months after the pandemic began, scientists, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, warned about a post-viral syndrome that was showing up in people who had recovered from COVID. That led some to compare the symptoms experienced by many following COVID-19 to the same experience that some people have after other viral infections, such as the flu.

But the new study concludes that the chances of getting COVID-19 symptoms months after the acute stage of the illness was more than twice as high as for influenza.

The Oxford-led team also found that people who had more severe COVID-19 illness were more likely to get long COVID. Likewise, female and young adult patients also had an elevated risk for the long-term symptoms, but the authors of the study found no difference between white and nonwhite patients."
