Beware of stubborn elderly spreading propaganda.
Always says don't worry, won't get covid,
I not scare, why can't go out, why can't dine out.

They are the ones crying on hospital beds.

Ignorant is the reason for their stubbornness.

Sinkeepoo should learn how to be brave and move forward. This is what a forward-thinking country does:

Denmark to lift all remaining Covid restrictions on 10 September

Health ministry says high level of vaccination means virus ‘no longer a critical threat to society’

Denmark is to lift all its remaining Covid-19 restrictions by 10 September after the health ministry declared the virus “no longer a critical threat to society” because of the country’s high level of vaccination.
“The epidemic is under control, we have record vaccination levels,” the health minister, Magnus Heunicke, said in a statement on Friday. “That is why we can drop the special rules we had to introduce in the fight against Covid-19.”

He warned, however, that even if the country was “in a good place right now”, the epidemic was not over and the government would not hesitate to “act quickly if the pandemic once again threatens the essential functioning of society”.
Denmark is the EU’s third-most vaccinated country, according to Our World in Data, with 71% of the population having received two shots. Malta is on 80% and Portugal 73%. The UK has fully vaccinated 62% of its population.
Denmark’s seven-day rolling average of new coronavirus cases per million inhabitants stands at 167, slightly above the EU average of 149 but well below Britain’s figure of 492, according to the same online science publication.

The country was one of Europe’s first to impose a partial lockdown in March last year, closing schools and non-essential businesses and services. After tightening and relaxing anti-Covid measures throughout the pandemic, it was also one of the earliest to begin reopening, launching a “coronavirus passport” on 21 April this year.
Danish restaurants, bars, cinemas, gyms, sports stadiums and hairdressing salons have been open since that date for anyone who can prove that they are fully vaccinated, have a negative test result less than 72 hours old or contracted Covid within the past two to 12 weeks.
That requirement, already lifted from 1 August for some venues such as museums, will disappear for most others from 1 September, although a coronapas will still be needed for nightclubs and large events including football matches until 10 September.
The government’s decision not to extend its classification of Covid-19 as a “critical threat” to society beyond 10 September effectively removes the legal basis for the restrictions, a health ministry spokesman said.
Restrictions on travel into Denmark, however, will remain in force until at least October because they are covered by a separate agreement between the country’s governing parties that does not expire until a later date.

As per normal is the best response at our peasant level. Nothing changes for me. This is only temporary. I still stick to 3k max infected and then things will turn the corner n numbers will start to tapper off.

Yes, the 3K mark would certainly be achieved, but our MTF already blinked first

Changes to Covid-19 rules will buy S'pore time to roll out booster shots, vaccinate more people: PM Lee

ang_qing_0.png

SINGAPORE - Tighter Covid-19 restrictions will give the Government more time to deliver booster shots and vaccinate those still not vaccinated, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in a Facebook post on Friday night (Sept 24).

"Meanwhile, we are also expanding our hospital capacity. This will ensure that our healthcare system is not overwhelmed and can continue to take good care of all those who need medical care, whether for Covid-19 or other conditions," he said.

From next Monday, people will be allowed to gather only in groups of two, as part of tightened restrictions to slow the exponential rise in Covid-19 cases.

These measures will last a month and will be lifted on Oct 25, with the measures reviewed in two weeks and adjusted, depending on the community situation.
The move follows a sharp spike in cases here, with the number of cases rising to more than 1,000 three days in a row this week.

The new measures, PM Lee said, are meant to protect the capacity of Singapore's healthcare system.

In tandem, operations to support fully vaccinated Covid-19 patients recovering at home are being ramped up.

To cope with the new restrictions - which include reducing the number allowed to dine out to two, from five - affected businesses will also receive support, said PM Lee.

Meanwhile, more patients are being placed in new community treatment facilities to free up hospital beds for more serious cases.

These facilities will provide closer monitoring and management of stable patients with co-morbidities (the presence of two or more medical conditions) and who are otherwise asymptomatic or have no symptoms.

The first patients arrived at Singapore's first community treatment facility in Tampines on Thursday.

"We have to adapt our response to Covid-19 as the pandemic develops," PM Lee said.
"I know the changes can be confusing and unsettling, but please bear with us," he added.
"We will work closely with you to protect all our families."

Free Covid-19 testing on weekends at 8 regional screening centres, 3 quick test centres: MOH

limminzhang.png

SINGAPORE - Eight regional screening centres and three quick test centres will stay open on weekends from Saturday (Sept 25) for people with acute respiratory symptoms to receive free polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Friday noted that these individuals currently have to visit private general practitioner clinics operating as Swab and Send Home clinics, but the clinics may not all be open on weekends.

The 11 centres will facilitate prompt testing over weekends, said the ministry.
Visits are by appointment only to prevent overcrowding. Bookings are open from 6pm on Friday to 3pm on Sunday for that weekend, said MOH.

Bookings can be made on the same day, up to two hours before a visit slot, and appointments are subject to availability.

"We encourage symptomatic individuals to get their confirmatory PCR test quickly so that they can get appropriate care if needed.

"This will also provide earlier protection to family members, colleagues and friends who might otherwise come into contact with the infected individual," said MOH.

At a virtual press conference by the multi-ministry task force on Covid-19 on Friday, Trade and Industry Minister Gan Kim Yong said testing remains key to detecting infections early and minimising the risk of further transmissions.

Antigen rapid test (ART) kits are being given to companies, and employees are strongly encouraged to self-test regularly, said Mr Gan, who is co-chair of the task force.

"We would also like to urge everyone to make testing a way of life and self-test before visiting crowded places or visiting those who are more vulnerable, such as the elderly or children," he added.

The eight regional screening centres are the former Shuqun Secondary School in Jurong East Street 21; former Da Qiao Primary School in Ang Mo Kio Street 54; former temporary Yishun bus interchange in Yishun Central; former Coral Primary School in Pasir Ris Street 51; former Innova Junior College in Champions Way; former Bishan Park Secondary School in Sin Ming Walk; former Bedok North Secondary School in Jalan Damai; and former Serangoon Junior College in Upper Serangoon Road.

The three quick test centres that will stay open on weekends are MOE Heritage Centre in Commonwealth Drive; Bishan Sports Hall in Bishan Street 14; and Bedok Town Square in New Upper Changi Road.

The current leeders and ministars lack the courage and foresight to move Sinkeepoo forward. Sad but true.
understandable lah
there's always a higher risk that it may not max at 3k per day, then it becomes a messy political issue for them
a lot of expired vax people around who vax before mar 2021, mainly the elderly and banglas
they need to revax these group first before taking more risk

Lucky I am a late vaxxer, so can wait until early next year for booster. If want to poke me earlier also can. At this juncture, I don't care anymore. Just poke me anywhere and anytime.
