Court Stops Frivolous Suit By Dead NSF's Family To Extract More Money From SAF!

Not at all. That sort of talk is used to fool lesser men into believing in their exceptionalism and thus deserving of their generous paychecks. Surely a good many years away from the country would have made you more clear-sighted.

Absolutely agree, this tactic was also used by the wooden fool when he described the entire family as exceptional. Better post this time, although you are still a gullible moron. ;)

u bathe this morning?

it was either during tee tua bah's stint as director prisons or his predecessor. Cant recall name. Cant b poh geok ek as this bugger took over from tee when latter became CP after prison posting.

If it is TTB or his predecessor, then it is before my time, and I did not research to find out who that individual is.

Thank you.
I was trying my best to give them some compliments.
Even my schoolmates and my very good friends from NS advise me that since I have been away for decades, I should "stay away" from SG matters.
Somehow, I find it more interesting to stay in touch with some SG matters, the SAF, etc. than similar Canadian matters.
I must be very unusual to watch live streaming of LKY's funeral, the recent GE, because it has no effect on me.

Hi Charlie99

It's quite natural for an ex Singaporean to be interested in SG matters. But it can get boring to read people gossiping about ex civil servants and what positions they held, especially as these people had little significance in the lives of most ordinary Singaporeans. Just my two cents worth, hope the weather is fine. ;)

Several of my old buddies, including a few from first batch OCS (many years before my time) and I sometimes chat or "gossip" about the old days, and those officers after our NS time (and after they retired, for those who signed on).
I am just curious to follow the moves of the various senior SAF officers (Ng Jui Peng, Bey Soo Khiang are older than me), and a few SPF officers (Khoo Boon Hui, CCK are older than me), although they are younger than me.

Well, most ordinary Singaporeans have little interest in these people (unless they are involved in current cases) and this is after all a public forum.
And if you didn't actually know them personally, it borders on gossip. Then again, this forum allows all sorts of discussions, so no problem there. ;)

What about if I do not know all of them?
Gossip? so be it.

Bro, leave him alone. I bet he still thinks you are scroobal &/or Mark.

You left s'pore decades ago, so cannot be keen on local affairs. You hardly talk about the weather in your city but more on makan etc, therefore you cant be where you are etc.

It is, but there's no problem in a forum where all topics are discussed and so be it.
If it's negative gossip and these people are not currently in the news or had little significance on the lives of ordinary Singaporeans, that would be bitchy gossip. ;)

The weather this winter has been like the TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange), up and down like a yo-yo.
Although, overall it has been mild with very few days of extreme cold.
For example the past 2 weeks, minus 17 C with wind chill of minus 25 (the City of Toronto has to issue an Extreme Cold Alert) a few evenings, whereas last Sunday high of about 12 C (I hung my laundry on the line in the backyard after lunch, and dry by 1700 hours), woke up at 0530 on March 02 to shovel (sweep or push with a broom) 12 cm of snow on my walkway to the sidewalk and the sidewalk (this time, it was really soft powder snow, and someone was skiing at some not so steep slope at High Park, where no one skis). Shovel snow this morning before breakfast, and by this late afternoon, the snow on those sidewalks which were not shovelled, the snow already melted.
Forecast high of 3 C on Saturday, and high of 9 C on Sunday.
In Feb, there was a day with record high of close to 14 C.

a young life is lost and there is not even compensation, balls to SAF!:oIo:

agreed. clear cut negligence. bastard SAF and all thier colonels and generals. full of shits. what this means is that in future, even all public instituitions LTA, MoH etc can fark up and get away with it. If a doctor did not follow SOP in garmen hosp and his negligence can result in a suit how come SAF is so special? the CO is definitely negligent using 6 grenades instead of 1. It is clear cut evidence he is bullying that recruit and wants to make sure he suffer. 1 smoke grenade and I cough like mad and have diffiiculty breathing even for a normal recruit. why 6 smoke grenades???? its the same like giving a patient 6 pills instead of 1 pill and he died from overdose. doctor can get sued. how come this bastard get away with it.

I think poster is referring to Stamford College and not Stanford University. In the old days, Stamford College was for those who had to repeat O levels or did not do well in the first O levels and want to re-try for a better score. usually its those people who cannot study. have to pay money to go there because it was a private school. There was a social stigma attached to it, as I am sure Golden Dragon will agree with. Place of last resort.

I remember Stamford they were located nearby to St Josephs. Correction next to Catholic High School
Not everyone is cut out for the Spore cookie cutter education system. So they served a need.

Stamford was eventually replaced by alternative educational schools like Lasalle school of art, Informatics which offered Diploma in IT,...etc
Nowadays we even have MPs telling us that we need to update our degrees or that degrees are not necessary in Spore:eek:

Changi Prison, a maximum security prison, was built and operationalised in 1936 as a training ground for the reform and rehabilitation of its inmates. The Singapore Prison Service was institutionalised as a Department in 1946 and G E WW Bayly became its first Commissioner. On 1 November 1973, Quek Shi Lei was appointed Director of Prisons.

The Ministry of Home Affairs set up a Prisons Re-Organisation Committee to review the system of rehabilitation, industrial training and work discipline. A new system of classification was then adopted in which inmates were grouped into sixteen classes under three broad categories.

On 1 January 1988, Tee Tua Ba took over as Director of Prisons, while Quek Shi Lei acted as an advisor to Singapore Prison Service and became CEO, Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises (SCORE). The Singapore Prison Service mission and operations philosophy, which formed the guiding principles on inmate management, were promulgated.

When Tee Tua Ba was posted to the Singapore Police Force (SPF) as Commissioner of Police on 1 July 1992, Poh Geok Ek took over the Directorship of Singapore Prison Service until 1 November 1998.

Another milestone in Singapore Prison Service’s history was the official opening of Tanah Merah Prison and Changi Women’s Prison/Drug Rehabilitation Centre on 23 April 1994 by then Minister for Home Affairs, Wong Kan Seng. These two purpose-built prisons served as the flagship institutions leading the Singapore Prison Service into the 21st century and were built based on latest contemporary prison design and architecture then.

The Singapore Prison Service mission statement, operations philosophy and corporate statement were revised in March 1996 with the inclusion of a set of Core Values.

In 1998, Chua Chin Kiat took over as Director of Singapore Prison Service from Poh Geok Ek when the latter retired. Under Chua’s directorship, the Singapore Prison Service organised a visioning exercise in January 1999 to collectively craft a shared vision and conduct a review of its mission to better accommodate the changing needs and expectations of its stakeholders and the public.
