It's either 溫開水 or 熱開水。

燒水 sounds like 騷水. That is one reason why Taiwanese will give you that "blur look" when they hear 騷水. In addition, 燒 refers to the process of burning and 燒水 is more akin to "burning water". 熱 is an adjective that describes the heat of the water. 燒水 is not wrong if used as a verb, but it's irrelevant in modern Chinese because we no longer burn wood or straw to boil water.

靠左邊 is not wrong. But the 邊 is redundant in your context. It's "keep left", not "keep left side".
