Budget 2014

That is hardly a rebuttal. Comcare either exists as described or it doesn't. If the government is not taking care of the destitute and the sick, how does Singapore achieve the 4th highest life expectancy in the whole world which is even higher than the Nordic states?

High life expectancy was not achieved by this pap team

We don't want any fake gimmicks n promises from the farking bastard pap, just return
to us all our CPF money at age 55.
We don't want any more rubbish n nonsense.
Since the pap are not really concern for the lives of Singapore citizens,we demand the pap return
To us all our CPF money at age 55,Do Not pretend to help,Return all our
CPF money to us,we die is our business.
This is a warning to the farking paP!
Better wake up your farking idea !

good point.

Just remain focused and ask for CPF to be returned at 55

They keep saying If they return all cpf at 55 then it will not last that persons remaining lifetime..do they have the stats of the number of people spending away all their cpf and living off state welfare their remaining life?

If numbers are too insignificant then pap argument is totally flawed.

Significant enough if pap didn't break it up into oa ma sa, retirement account etc.

Assuming it was all added together and handed over at 55, approx how much would you have?

No obligation to tell You these personal stuff.

I don't know you from Adam. You're just a nick here and I don't have a clue who you are in real life so I fail to understand what can be so personal about stating a number.

I had about $380,000 in my CPF when I retired.

Assuming it's about the same as yours. So what's your point? Citizens can have amount ranging from less than 10k to a few hundred thousand. So? Regardless the amount it's their money. Pap must return every cent to them at 55. And please don't get started about your usual bullshit crap of renouncing your citizen ship to take your cpf.

If someone who has $20,000 in CPF withdraws it all for retirement and receives no further assistance from the government or family after the age of 55, how long do you think they would last?

Any stats to support what u say? How many people depend on state welfare after using all their cpf money at 55? If the % is insignificant then based on what pap restrict the withdrawal?

I don't have the stats but if just 10% of each 55 plus cohort were unable to stretch their CPF more than 5 years after they've withdrawn the whole lot, would it be acceptable that for every 10,000 retirees, 1000 had no means of support whatsoever after they ran out of funds?

For those of them they would need to fall back on their families and friends before either killing themselves or sleeping on the streets. How many would actually get state welfare? No stats but pap can do this?

what about people bring bankrupt by casinos, did it stop the pap from opening it? Pap just push it to the individual to be responsible. The government can not happy happy cherry pick to it's advantage

Yes you get out of there before that happens. Only creatures with very low IQs do nothing but wait for their own demise.

I expected that you would suggest migration but in cases like North Korea you can't even leave. Ending up as a floating corpse on the seabed after a boat of communist soldiers pass by, doesn't sound like adaptability to me.

It's a matter of degree. If a government took total control of the lives of those it governed, Singapore would end up like an Islamic state where even the clothes you wear are determined by the state.

NZ has Casinos too and the same debate rages between the left and the right. One group advocates personal responsibility while the other insists that the government should control everything. The latest issue is about banning 2 litre coke bottles because they're the main cause of obesity according to the researchers. I stand by those who say that people are ultimately responsible for what passes through their lips. Nobody is forced to drink 2 litres of coke per day. It's their choice.

Humans are complex creatures. No government can solve all the issues that plague the species. The PAP may not be perfect but I can assure you that most governments around the world are far worse.

By the same logic human should be responsible for their own finances. And If they fail they must face the consequences. Right now we cannot even get back our own money. Cpf is contributed by employer. And employees. Government should do the right thing that is return them at 55
