Oh Stonehenge isn't actually a white elephant, because its actually one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world. Thus it generates a real tourist income because it was created in an age when there was only manpower with no electricity, and not machine power.

IR nowdays however are not wonders of the world, and neither are they like say the Eiffel Tower, or the Statue Of Liberty. So if it becomes a white elephant, then they would just join the ranks of Tang Dynasty and Haw Par Villa, yet another example of a government business initiative that gone bust.

As a Singaporean, I'm still pretty embarrassed, looking at this miserable record.

1 glance, we know what is the realisitic ratio of local visitor vs tourists.

They better hope the bottom doesn't fall out for their investments in the West, in that case. The casino industry is linked so closely to the property market, especially in Las Vegas, the HQ of these companies.
