Breaking news: Suspect arrested for murder

You have a point. My uncle had slashed and slaughtered don't know how many people in his life, knew Beach Road and Robinson Road lockups like his own backyard and went to Pulau Senang for two spells of vacation. It was also fortunate that he was released a few days before the Pulau Senang riot. It was one of the rare cases where rioting (even with weapon and causing death) ended up in death penalty.
If the case had involved 2 gangs going at each other with choppers or broken beer bottles, I wouldn't be too bothered. Just tell me where it happened and I'll try to avoid that area.
But in this case and many other cases that have happened before, there was clearly an aggressive armed attacking party, and an unarmed defenseless victim party, who were perhaps rude and stubborn. Being rude and stubborn is not a crime and certainly does not deserve such an outcome.

Clint shot the unarmed man because he is the new owner of Greely's bar. His character is called Skinny Dubois. Skinny is also the pimp of the woman who was cut up. Skinny's bar is the HQ for the posse that Gene Hackman was rounding up to go after Clint's character William Muny. Skinny put Muny's dead friend Ned (Morgan Freeman) in an open coffin outside his bar, so the whole town going by can see it. Muny was pissed off at this, and after he shot Skinny, he said "Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend".

Yes, that was toward the end of the movie.

Skinny did not rough up the woman, in fact, he did not like what happened to her, as she could not work as much after that, and as her pimp, it mean less money. The woman delilah Fitzgerald (Played by Anna Levine) had her face cut up by 2 drunk cowboys. they did not break her arm.

Yes, that was during the beginning of the movie. The reason why the cowboy cut up the whore's face was she giggled at his dickie too weenie.

The fact that we have discussed these cases before only proves that they have been happening again and again, and nothing substantial has been done to alleviate the problem.
In my view, the parents have to be involved and suffer harsh penalties, in the case of young killers. Otherwise, nothing will change.

It is happening only in the peasant world.

Who cares!

You mean you don't even know about 'HOW YOUR PLACE IS RUN?":D

I just can't bare to see any inaccuracies in this movie.
Thanks for the correction.
My apologies for getting the facts wrong, despite being one of my favourite movies.

Everyone talk here like all these gangster are some kind of tough guys. They are pussy guniangs compared with gangsters from HK, Taiwan, Russian, US, etc. There, gangsters have guns. A chopper is a joke to them. They know how to make car bombs. They deal in hard drugs. Not petty robberies like these idiots or ambushing sailors, or whatever little crime they do. They are choir boys compared to the mafia, crips, bloods, etc. If these so call gangsters go on holiday to US, and met some members of the Crips and started to talk cock. The Crips will ask them "So, what kind of crimes have you done". After they hear it from the S'pore gangster, they will fall on the ground laughing at how kindergarden they are. I met a grandmother from South Carolina that kept a .357 magnum and another semi auto 9mm in her nightstand. She is tougher than all these morons put together.

Once again, it reminds me of a scene in Unforgiven after Clint Eastwood (William Muny) shot Gene Hackman (Little Billy)...

Gene Hackman : (in his last breath)...I don't deserve to die like this...

Clint Eastwood : It has nothing to do with deserve.

Actually Ram, the script is:
Little Bill: "I don't deserve this.....to die like this. I was building a house
William Muny: "Deserves got nothin to do with it.
Little Bill: "I will see you in hell William Muny"
William Muny: "Yeah"

Ya, they do not know the real gangster in Singapore. He has a police force with SWAT Team and a army; and he has a henchman by the name of wongkanseng.

Papsmearer with aluminum baseball bat VS 3 so called katik gangster with choppers/kitchen knives. Who will win? Hint: Ever seen watermelon smashed by a bat? Its going to be similar.

Yeah, that's the real gangster.

My son died because of his love for his friends: Victim's father
by Teo Xuanwei

SINGAPORE - When he was in secondary school, his teachers had to call up his parents almost every week. But when he was dismissed by Republic Polytechnic about three weeks ago, Mr Darren Ng Wei Jie took it upon himself to write an appeal letter.

Mr Francis Ng knew then that his son had grown up and wanted to leave behind his rebellious ways.

But he never got the chance.

The 19-year-old was hacked to death on Saturday by a group of chopper-wielding youths after an alleged staring incident at Downtown East.

At Darren's memorial service last night, Mr Ng said: "My son died because of his love for his friends."

One after another, Darren's childhood friend, girlfriend, elder sister and parents shared their memories of a "cheerful" young man with "a heart of gold", moving many among the 400 friends and relatives present.

His sister Debbie said "Darrenboy" was like "a little older brother" to her. And although the second-year industrial and operations management student often made the family worry, they knew how much he loved them. "I can't remember when was the last time I spoke to you and it really sucks to be able to talk to you only when you're lying in there," she said. "Jie Jie misses you."

His girlfriend of seven months, Charmaine, said Darren always talked about his friends and family. He was also a "joker" who would think of ways to make those around him laugh, she said.

Mark, who had known Darren since he was young, said he "always wants the best for his friends".

Police said on Monday that four men, aged between 18 and 20, were arrested in connection with Darren's murder. They are expected to be charged in court today.
