Breaking news: Suspect arrested for murder

When you see his funeral turnout, its amazing so many "of his friends" turn up. I have never seen such a huge turnout before

You must have seldom attended funerals. My dad's funeral procession had 10 "marked" cars and 10 buses. That was considered average respectably dignifiable in the 90s. My grand dad's funeral in traditional big flowery lorry and a convoy got police blockading whole stretch of road for passage in the 70s. I got the honour to sit in the flowery lorry with dad and uncles as the eldest grandson. They told me if fighting starts, grab one of the parangs under the bench, slash the strangers and run for my life. But they lose to S. Rajaretnam, Goh Keng Swee and Kwa Geok Choo lah, by miles. :D

Its not blue - purple/violet (gentian violet). Have to disagree on not painful part. It is such a deterrent that this govt has gone overboard on putting on too many offences.

Recalcitrants are clearly avoiding offences that result in caning. The marks are there for life.

sorry ...i think its blue ...you know those type of blue or maybe you call it purple medicine , when you had a fall when you are young , your parents will apply on your wound ? or your parent will use that medicine to write chinese character words " tiger " on your cheeks . yes , that kind of medicine .

the marks will not be there for life ...i have friends who are cane 6 strokes but leave no mark after 10years ...

Bro, I was asking if you are aware of inmates who were caned beyond 24 strokes, the legal limit.

sorry bro , im not aware of it ...as far as i know the legal limit is just 24 strokes ..

Yeah, my dad was like that. Want to be hero or bully, settle it all outside. Once matter brought to home meant I was wrong, whack first talk later.

I believe and my understanding is previous generations parents use to go by such principles but I cant tell if it'll work in present days.

i have being wondering how they cane with such precision man. are there cases where they miss kill and hit the spine?

the inmates did wear a cushion belt before caning to avoid kena hit at the spine ...;)

Heard victim from GSS. Not Great S'pore Sale but Guat San Siah.

That's a triad, looking at the turn out at his funeral wearing black Ts, one has little doubt there had to be a certain logo. The victim is not as innocent as what people thought to be.

You should check with the lau cheows in your department and if they trust you, they will admit there were cases 2 decades ago whereby 36 and 48 strokes of the cane did land on the buttocks of 4-5 inmates. The inmate population even cheered the "victims" when they were carried out. Why do you think one of the "victim" is nicknamed "see chap puay .....". Coz he survived the 48.

In case you havent know own clothings no longer applies, detained or remanded wears certain outfit. In such case red are under special watch/ward.

now even normal remanded criminal wear shackles before appear in courts ...because a few cases that remanded inmates escape from courts during police supervision ...;)

I think there'll be a revenge campaign, regardless of the trial verdict and sentence. It's important to maintain the integrity of the gang, not as a you-die-police-problem gang.

they wear all these because they are classified as "special watch"

Just curious ..do you know how the SS member recognise each other since there could be hundreds of them in the same gang, newly joined member etc. else they might end up killing their own gang in any staring.

The difference between experience and inexperience is that in the case of the former, the old timers stay away while the latter category tries to steal the limelight.

when is the last time you go court ? ;)

now all remandees wear that to appear in court even DRC inmates going to court for divorce ...you should go court 26 or even family court ( not even high court ) and have a look yourself .

yes. they dont recognise each other lah. unless they are the higher ranks in SS.

in their terms, they call this scanning each other "clothes", or what "shirts is he wearing ? meaning which gang he belongs to.
