train at mandai? get real man. they should train often at desaru and have weekly sessions at fraser hill, genting and terengganu region. that's why the terengganu cycling team are ahead...
Even the weather in malaysia isn't ideal for training.... and to ride fast you've got to know how to keep up with a fast peleton (which are always available in Europe). Met a pro rider on a flight once, and he says he rides 1400-1600km a week, and is only a 2nd tier rider in a small team... I am not sure if our OCBC riders clock 1600km a MONTH.
My uni friend in Australia rode in division 1 with shimano 105 parts! Yet he has no problems keeping up as he was a domestique. Recall in that year two Sinkie national riders were in division two at a race in perth.... doubt that they used 105 parts.... maybe for training use only.
Desaru how to ride so far without dehydrating? Even in winter the top riders go to Mallorca in Spain for such high mileage training in 10deg weather.
