Any update on the depth of your longkang ?

Wai.jpg

Sawasdeekrup everybody. Longkang level this morning is about 15cm from the road. So it is an improvement from 10cm. However its been like 15 cm whole day despite the rain thats why I sounded a little optimistic last night.

Hotels would have their own generators.

Sukhumvit and Surawong-Silom is quiet for now.

See SA02 - Victory Monument http://dds.bangkok.go.th/Canal/

It's 1.67m below the drainage outlet. Rajathewi is nearer to Silom, it's SA03, and it's 1.65m below the drainage outlet.

Just checked. Water in Canal has risen. Rajathewi has now gone up to - 1.38, i.e. water has gone up by 27 cm. Over at Thonglor, the difference is only 1 cm compared with the last time.

Victory Monument from 1.67 to 1.43 now, i.e. gone up by 24 cm.

Just returned from Bangkok General Hospital. The place is like a war zone now with military men everywhere stacking up sandbags The sandbags at the entrance are almost 1m high.

Joety, I saw how they covered the sandbags with a poncho. I think that's the correct way of doing it. I hope you got your big blue color poncho as well.

Of course I'm serious. I found your March Pharmacy. Yes, you got everything right. It's 100 baht per sachet. I think it's the cheapest in town, if I'm not wrong.

The sois are pretty much like the eve of war. The hawkers have disappeared and soldiers are deployed all over the areas. Even the canal boats stop service today. You can sense as if a massive hurricane is on its way.

Sit tight, bro.

The water level in the canal is normal. Like Joety mentioned, it feels a bit eerie.

Let me dedicate this song to all bros who are in Bangkok now:

Hi all. I just got home been with new Malaysian supplier whole day. Anyway at 1.30pm on my way to city centre on Wongwaen Ring Road I saw large preparation to block the highway towards north. I encountered two of these one is between Klong Luang exit and Rangsit exit the other is between Rangsit exit and Lam Lukka exit. Also every exit or cross pint are manned by police. Honestly the scene is pretty scary as I feel like I am running away from a disaster behind me. The I also thought about the fact that I am also running away from my factory and office. Sad. I just called office and was told that Klong 4 is still under control.

Now home checked drain and it risen to 10cm again from 15cm I saw outside my guardhouse technicians pumping water from the drain. I bought 4 very big pails and filled them with water inside my bathrooms on the second floor. I read somewhere that whenever a flood occur underground water tank will be contaminated for sure because the flood pressure will force dirty water into the tank. Also during a flood electric power will be cutoff so water pump will not work.

OK, here's my dedication. From Bird - "Nam Ta Fa", a classic cover version of the original Sam Ton. Sorry if this music sounds a little sad.

Yes, fresh drinking water is also a must. Are you using gas stove or electrical stove? I am using LPG so still can cook in the event of power failure. Did not really stock up much food except drinking water. Think Pattaya still OK, standby a little bit, just in case. Also, 2 bottle of 100 pipers.

Drinking water have enough for 10 days supply. I use LPG cylinder so if necessary I could quickly move it to the second floor with a makeshift stove. Water I stored is mainly for cleaning and if really necessary can boil and drink. I have a two step SOP.

#1 If water starts coming into the property I have prepared to move the things out side into living room and kitchen. These will be things like my BBQ, plastic storage drawers, washing machines and dryer. At the same time I will move some stuff in the kitchen and living room upstairs like dry food and LPG cylinder and stove and my rose wood dining chairs, audio and tv.

#2 If water is about to breach the sandbags I will move my sofa up and all electrical equipment and raise my dining table.
