When I was young growing up, I had always thought Prem Tinsulanonda was a longer-serving Thai PM than most - stoic & capable.

So in 2006, when I first heard from a Thai Monk who said Prem (Chief Royal Counsel now) is a gay homo, I was shcoked beyond belief.

Now I see the same accusations here - any truth anyone ?

:oIo:

Thais are calling for an election and all they got is a lousy emergency decree

The Emergency Decree and what it means :

· Prohibiting any person from leaving a dwelling place during the prescribed period;

· Prohibiting the assembly or gathering of persons at any place or any conduct that may incite or lead to unrest;

· Prohibiting the publication, distribution or dissemination of letters, print materials or any means of communications that may cause fear among the people or are intended to distort information to cause misunderstanding of the emergency situation affecting security or public morality, both in the area or locality where a state of emergency had been declared or in the whole country;

· Prohibiting the use of communications routes or vehicles or prescribing conditions on the use of communications routes or vehicles;

· Prohibiting the use of buildings or barring entry or exit;

· Evacuating people from a designated area for the safety of civilians or prohibiting any person from entering a designated area.
The emergency decree is valid for 30 days. There is no limit to how many times it can be extended by cabinet approval.”

In reality, a throwback to the democratisation of Thailand. This is going to endear the army and the govt themselves to the people...Ohh...How the Thai loves to be told what the fuck they can or cannot do by a fascist government.

Thailand’s anti-government red shirt movement announced that they would disperse their rallies across 10 further locations in Bangkok on Friday, whilst the Prime Minister has declared a state-of-emergency in an attempt to restore order.

pic269.jpg

Influential Red Shirt leader Nuttawut Saikua revealed that the protesters will begin to move away from the central Phan Fa Bridge and Ratchaprasong intersection at approximately 9am on Friday. It is believed that the demonstrators will now spread out to up to 10 further undisclosed locations over the weekend, in an attempt to force Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to dissolve parliament. The homes of Prime Minister Abhisit and Deputy Prime minister Suthep Thaugsuban are just two of the locations expected to experience mass gatherings over the coming days.

Prior to issuing a state-of-emergency, the government forced the closure of the Red Shirt People’s Station (PTV), stating that the pro-red shirt network was misinforming the Thai public as to the situation regarding the rallies, having the potential to instil mass-panic which is considered a national security risk. PTV was broadcasting live video feeds of the Red Shirt rallies, in which red shirts leaders claimed that the government were using force to disperse various rallies throughout Bangkok. “This totally contradicts the government’s objective, which is to restore peace and order. We don’t want to inflict any wound or cause the smallest damage,” stated Prime Minister Abhisit.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva enacted the emergency law in Bangkok and surrounding areas, allowing the arrest of key leaders of the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD/Red Shirts). The state of emergency also bans gatherings of more than five people. It is the fourth time since 2008 that emergency law has been declared in the capital because of political turmoil.

In addition to the closure of PTV the government has enforced widespread bans on pro-red shirt internet media, currently blocking public access to 36 websites. Those sites that have been blocked include Thai national news publication, prachatai.com and the Fah Diew Kan magazine’s online political forum. Most if not all of the restricted sites were broadcasting live feeds of the red shirt rallies and the anti-government protests. Prachatai editor-in-chief Chuwat Rerksirisuk has demanded that the government explain the reason for its closure.

SCENE II.
Friends, Thais and countrymen,lend us your ears,
We came to bury Abhisit and Prem, not to praise them.
The evil those men do lives after them;
Those shits shall be interred with their bones;
So let them be with Abhisit and Prem.

Following the government issuing a state-of-emergency on Thursday, red shirts leader Nuttawut declared that they (Red Shirts) do not fear the government and will use any force necessary to make their opinions heard. Allegedly tear gas protective gear has been handed out to protesters and Red Shirt ‘guards’ remain vigilant at the rally site although the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES) has once again confirmed that the government will not use force to disperse the crowd.

The current political turmoil effecting Thailand, in particular Bangkok, has now been ongoing for over three weeks and is estimated to have cost the economy over Bt15 billion in tourist revenue.

The foot soldiers should switch side now that the first wave has been deflected.
The Reds should knock some senses into those conscripts that these are their fellow brothers and sisters citizenry and they should not fight each other.

Some initiatives should come from the leaders of the Reds if they want to win this so called war of the classes. The soldiers are not the enemy, the generals are the enemies. the ruling classes are the enemies. These soldiers' families should be approached to make appeals to their sons and daughters that it is not worth dying for a fucking fascist govt. The Reds are for them and not those yellow fascist dogs that will always laugh at their expenses and crack jokes about the country bumpkins classes that those conscripted soldiers came from. It is time to reach out for the foot soldiers and be united against their commom foes, those generals and not to paint themselves into a corner.
