No matter how much quantity or quality of supplements or medication you took for gout, they are too small amount, too little effectiveness in comparison against YOUR DIET. Hard to expect their effects can completely override the bad health effects coming from your own daily diet. Diet is THE MAIN THING. The medications and supplements are minor assisting factors only.

Uric acid is the DIRECT TOXIN that causes inflammation of your body tissue - aka gout attack. It is an acid. It can never avoid to be neutralized by alkaline. Basic chemistry: acid met with alkaline will get chemical reaction called neutralization, in which both acid and alkaline chemically changed into salt and water. Then these salt and water pee out as urine. Gradually the accumulation of acid will reduce and clear. If you took 50-60 years of unhealthy diet, do not expect to be able to clear their accumulated toxin within 1~2 years. Any such rapid drastic alteration of body chemistry is dangerous and harmful, extremely!

My PRC friend expected to clear his uric acid within days! He is still in deep shit and at a lost looking for ways - after 5 years, I never managed to convince him. During the same five years I cleared my own acid crystals 80~90%. I feel like a different person already. My ex-favorite food beef mutton sashimi sushi caviar all sorts of coffee I ditched them to the extend of 99%. Bad joints and muscles all restored. I am already very confident that I am so far from risk of gout attack.

With the same amount of acid unchanged, if your body gets dehydrated, water reduced means acid level shoots up with the same amount of acid inside the much reduced amount of water.

That means you sweat a lot, you do not pee much, you did sports or exercises, or work under hot sun, you ate acidic diet to recover your energy, you are at high risk of gout attack already.

THERE IS HUGE CONFUSION ABOUT FOOD / DIET for gout prevention, regarding the contradiction and changing effects of various food. There are lots of sources of information contradicting each other.

Some items are acidic before being eaten, but changed within your body chemistry to help your body actually reduce acid level or increase alkaline characteristics. Some other items are just the reversed, they are alkaline but bio-chemistry changes after eating them into your body, it caused your body to develop towards acidic. It is the subsequent and final effect that would count for the long term. Short term opposite effects are not very harmful. E.g. Oranges are acidic (citric acid) when you took them, initially and temporarily caused your body to change towards acidic, but afterwards reversed to help your body towards alkaline with more lasting period. You will find oranges listed in among acidic food list, which is correct, but you can find it also in another list that suggest it for more longer term pro-alkaline effects, which seems to contradict the 1st, that is fucking confusing huh?

What's the difference between a vegetable and an animal?

One, plant life is meant for food. Animals as food is not the wisest thing for human substinance.

Two, one has no heart, no organs, no blood. An animal is like a human...with a heart, organs and a bloody creature. The blood of an animal is a very toxic. It is one of the leading reason why we should not take animal products as disease and sickness spreads from being contaminated.

Three, plants are living food. Vegetables and fruits clean and maintain the system. Blood and fats clog up the human body. This hastens death and aging.

Fourth, vegetarians tend to be healthier and therefore live longer.

After seeing Gout Specialist , have to take 300 mg allopurinol daily. It didnt really work, and in fact worsen, usually I got pain on ankle but now got pain on shoulder , wrist. And have to take clochicine ( not good if take often cause diarrhia ) and Prednislone (which is not good long bad for kidney) .

So I stop taking alupurinol and embarked on
my own treatment . and so far coming to 1 and half month , no gout attack, my joints
feel like 30 yrs , though i now 63 yrs.

I believe that living the good life and "an abundance of good life food" causes gout.

Yes not taking good care of oneself and the indulgence of poor eating habits are reasons why there are many health problems. And yes "an abundance of good life food" causes plenty health issues. Avoid the meats and the liquor.

Animals who are carnivores such as the lions, dogs, cats, pigs etc lead very short life. The animals who feed on plants and fruits such as the cows, elephants, horses, goats etc outlive the dogs, lions and cats by many more years! Where does man come in?

A man when eating a plant based diet, tends to be disease free. This is why they can eat beans and nuts and not feel the pain. They are also living longer as they are healthier.

Bro, you are correct to a certain extent. Yes diet plays a very big part.

I am a vegetarian by choice. By I still supplement as the food I take may not be able to fulfil all my nutritional requirements. In this modern age, the plants and vegetables planted are depleted of many nutrients and minerals. I therefore turn to supplementation which I wasn't too keen initially but now realised I have to. Used to be taking all kinds of supplement but I have presently cut down to one.

Be careful. Gout attacks the lowest point first. For the fact that it hits your wrist means it is quite bad already. Control the pain first using NSAIDs first. Then go on Allurpurinol. Then change diet.
 
Here's relief. Try cherry extract pills.

For cure. Eat Herbalife diet. A friend of mine was over 120kg, lost 50kg, cured his severe diabetes, knee pain and gout by eating a lot of Herbalife. Today he is cured and can play football regularly.

Cherry contains a small level of anti inflammatory chemical. However, it is not enough and it is only symptomatic relief.
 
gout really very bad. my friend and his wife dressed nicely for an evening out - loving couple - new year's eve. had some red wine and nice steakl.half way through, he got the severe pain...he could not stand it. he limped back half way through the dinner.apologised profusely to his host and lumbered out of the restaurant...

Usually before a full blown attack, there will be symptoms like feeling a little hot, especially on your palms. Gout crystals are seen as foreign bodies and the body will increase temp to try to kill it
 
My brother and I have got gout. When the attack comes, it is very acute and painful. Even if it is a very light touch on the spot (usually my first toe joint), it is superpainful.

While diet plays a part, genetics counts too. OK, I admit my diet is not very controlled. But for my younger brother, he eats carefully and avoids food with high uric acid content. He does not drink at all. Yet his attack is more frequent then mine!!

Every morning, I take a pill of Allopurinol 100 mg. I hardly get any attack these days (for around 2 years).

However, I still standby some Synflex (quite strong painkiller) and Colchicine (to treat acute attack) at home, in office and whenever I travel. If I do not have these 2 medicine and the Gout attack comes, then the pain is really unbearable!!

Colchicine gives me the runs. I have since stopped taking it and just rely on allurpurinol and the occassional NSAIDs when it breaks thru. Try Arcoxia 120mg. Damn good. 1 to 2 pills and all gone like magic.
 
Bro be careful, i have a box of that in my drawer but to date i only ate 6. My ex GF in college days is now my family GP, she was very reluctant to give this pill to me when i kenna gout, she warned me of its harmful effects in the long run & told me the natural & healthy way is still the best or if cannot, try other natural supplements would be ideal. As far as possible, that pill is only a last minute no choice solution!

Try this, i've been taking and till now, stopped and only take when absolutely necessary like Vesak day's incident. But prob is, where to buy it. My dad bought a whole bunch of it for my mom who had gout, my dad didn't have and has passed away without any of us knowing where to buy it.

How long have you had gout? The supps are only symptomatic relief, meaning the base problem is still there
 
Gout is a disease of the rich. Nothing to worry.

Avoid red meats, red wine, citrus fruits (grapes) and take Allopurinol medication regularly should prevent further attacks.

Talk cock. Red meat is not as bad as peanuts and animal spare parts like Kuay chap.

You have to continue taking it and also use Arcoxia to control the flare ups. After a few months, all will disappear and you can almost live a normal life as long as on Allurpurinol. Have to perserve. All the rest of the OTC supplements are just anti inflamatory chemicals like arcoxia. Control the pain, take allurpurinol and then change lifestyle. After you stabalise, then slowly reintroduce the items one by one. For example, i drink and eat my red meats from time to time but avoid peanuts at all costs. I even eat the occasional mixed nuts without peanuts of course.

boil green papaya with skin and seed off then add green tea (organic).....after 6 to 10 cups in 3 days my gout was reduced to almost none. Once in 1 month I take 2 to 3 cups. Now after 8 years, I can drink bear and eat nuts and sea food...no more gout!

Correct. But during an attack, Allurpurinol is a No. It will worsen the condition. Must take chochicine.

Paracetamol is also another NO during an attack.
