ang mo cyclist at ECP

was on the ECP cycle path going in direction of fort road today 1st may, about 1.30pm.

this was a busy area and today it was crowded as it was a public holiday. lots of kids on small bikes.
we were cycling along and obviously not going very fast. at this point saw a young kid (about 4 - 5) on a bike in front, slowed down because never know what a kid might do. then this ang mo cyclist comes up on my right and can hear him going quite fast. he passes me, then the kid in front turns and veers right.
they collide and the first thing the ang mo does is to shout :
"stupid kid"
i then say to the ang mo : "give the kid a break. no need to shout at him"
then he says : "where are the parents, kid should not be cycling alone...."
the mother appears and apologizes profusely to the ang mo
i then say to him that he should not be shouting at the kid as he rides off
he then shouts stupid kid etc cyling alone etc again
i then shout : you are a bloody foreigner who doesn't understand singapore culture.
he shouts back "you are a racist"
i say " it is true, you ARE a foreigner
he says : " you said something bad:
i say : " i called you a foreigner which is true, and i added bloody" "if you don't like living here. you can leave"

he then says : fuck you
i say : "so got nothing else to say must resort to vulgarities, and say again if you don't like it here, you can leave "

I'm on the side of the Ang Moh. Sinkie kids are a damned nuisance and need to be shouted at on a regular basis. Hopefully, the kid will be more careful in future.

Its a kid. When you see a kid, common sense should kick in. Looking ahead, you can spot the adult novice cyclists and everyone gives allowance. They don't yell or crash into them. Its the Ang Mos who I see speeding thinking that this skills can work magic. When they crash, the will yell about the rules first.

Couple of years ago I was jogging along ECP where I saw a group of Ang Mos and their SPGs girlfriends cycling. They were in a group hogging the entire cycling path and the girls ( minahs) were shouting at the cyclists to make way for them. Wanted to give them a piece of my mind but since they were not bothering me as I was jogging along the jogging path and I did not want to spoil my Sunday, I decided to mind my own biz. Thinking about this still rankles today!

ECP cycle path and other PCN are not for "speed riding".

Those tour de france wannabe should use the road together with other ft bus/lorry drivers & taxi drivers.

SPG with Ang Mo is a hazard that is best avoided.

You should see them boss cabin crew especially stewardess. The false accent can vomit blood, the special request such as asking for cheese by name, drama around wine choices etc. The ang mo partner will remain quiet.

I cycle too. And what you said is spot on. Kids on two wheels are unpredictable, this is almost universal and not just a sinkie trait. My riding buddies and I tend to steer clear of them whenever we spot them.
