Aljunied GRC MPs Outreach...

13.06.09 - Serangoon Division Zone Party

Taken at Serangoon Ave 4

The second of the Serangoon Division Zone Party Series took place at Blk 226 Serangoon Avenue 4. About 180 residents joined us in this event.

As with the party organised two weeks ago at Serangoon North Avenue 2, police officers from the Serangoon Neighbourhood Police Centre came to educate residents on crime prevention. On top of this, the police officers also gave out U-locks to bicycle owners.

There was the popular balloon sculpturing, where some residents learnt and tried sculpturing their own balloons. There was also a Penalty Shootout game for the children, with prizes won when they scored a goal!

During the high-tea session, MP Ms Sylvia Lim went about to speak to the residents, noting their concerns and feedbacks.

It was certainly an eventful afternoon for both residents and volunteers alike.

Dear Residents,

We are very sorry that we have to postpone the One Day Family Trip on 22 June to 17 August due to the haze situation. The pollution has reached hazardous levels and everyone should avoid unnecessary outdoor activity.

The Government has indicated that we can expect the current haze levels to continue for the coming weeks. For the health and safety of those of you who signed up for the trip, and for that of our volunteers, we have decided that it would be best to postpone the trip. We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us for the trip on Saturday, 17 August 2013.

One good thing about the postponement is that those of you who have not yet signed up for the trip can now do so. Please help spread the word.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

If you should have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]; please remember to leave your name and contact number in the email so that we may get back to you as soon as practicable.

Singaporeans stepping up: Owner of Gibson Medical Hall at Blk 631, Bedok Reservoir Road and a resident at Jalan Singa sponsored 200 masks yesterday when they realised it was for a children's home. When I wanted to pay for the masks....you can imagine what happened. They refused to accept any payment. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

Profiteering individuals: A colleague at work put it best after seeing this post from EDMW loves Singapore: "This is why the social media should never be controlled. Public policing."

– MOH will subsidise $30 per visit; most patients should pay $10
– Scheme will be operational at designated GP clinics progressively from 21 June, 12 noon.

At Polyclinics
– All Singaporeans will pay no more than $10
– Scheme will be operational from 21 Jun 2013, 8 am.

"We want another one, just like the other one!"
Thank you for all of your well wishes. We are off in busloads for a day of community bonding amidst the trees, bees, durians, food and shopping. See you tonight back at Paya Lebar. (Here's a picture from our last trip).

PAP MPs are figuring out how much of their allowance do they want to give away to the poor in their wards. It is tough decision ...they are greedy people and giving is not their nature. Taking is where they excel.

Guess, the caring PAP MPs is limited to talk. Talk is cheap and there are lots of talkers in the PAP.
