We love festivals in Aljunied GRC. That's when we truly immerse ourselves in multicultural Singapore living, by partaking in shared celebrations. Remember the "fun-fairs" of yesteryear? We do. And we wanted to recreate part of that experience in the heart of our neighbourhood.
And that's what we did. On December 20, we brought the community in Kaki Bukit constituency together to celebrate Christmas. Our grassroots Christmas celebrations featured several games stations that had the young and young-at-heart bursting with joy, judging by their most engrossed and gleeful expressions.
While the games stations were a whirlwind of games and fun, our stage events brought an extra sparkle to the morning celebration. A magician-juggler serves up a delightful performance of magic and illusions. And a youthful choir from neighbouring Bethesda Bedok-Tampines Church put up several song items, caroling their way into the hearts of our Bedok North residents and lighting up the morning with their soothing voices. Not forgetting the beautiful people from Stirring Hearts who showed us how arts and crafts can be done in a nimble and creative manner. Last but not least, a special shout out to Mr. Chua, a local resident who supplies us with the ice creams for the event.
Gracing the event was Mr. Muhamad Faisal bin Abdul Manap, Member of Parliament for Aljunied GRC, who was all smiles as he was at ease with the cheerful crowd. Indeed, it was a grounds up effort and everyone chips in to make the event a success.
