Charlie, the zapping used to be very bad until Sam stepped in to tweak the reputation system.
It is one way of intimidating newbies, and it happens also at the sex forum. I recall Debonerman, harrych, kohpc were targets of mass zapping. As well as numerous other newbies, some only registered barely a week before they were zapped into silence. Easily a dozen newbies lost in this way, and who knows how they could have contributed to this forum if not for a bunch of intolerant bigots.
Scroobal and GD had enough buffer, and they can't be freaking bothered with points anyway, so its no problem for them to get zapped. I myself have infP so its no problem for me to be zapped 7 times by Goondusami's clones.
But the rest who were zapped were newbies, and they were frequently zapped into moderation.
I pointed this out to Sam some years back and he agreed that it was a problem. That's why Sam tweaked the point system.
Bangkok pimp and Sultan know this is going on and their clique is responsible for the situation. They cannot take the noble high ground and then act innocent when the guys go around chasing newbies away. I recall some of those points were bought when allegedly in a state of alcohol-induced stupor and that is how drunk these guys are. Its idiocy at its finest.
