$7.40 for kaya toast set deemed “ridiculous” by Singaporeans online

What is so difficult to toast your own bread, spread buttter and kaya…do it at home.

If eat out and pay money…eat something that is leche and difficult to make requiring time and many ingredients.

Shops now have to charge $7 for a dish otherwise cannot make money from rental. People who don't get it are just low IQ retards who should never have children.

People who want to spend just $3 to sit idle for an hour can do so at the HDB coffee shop or go across the causeway.

But no one cares about such people who complain. They mouth got no power only good for sucking cock and pussy at geylang.

standard Sinkie coolie behaviour....................they wanna fool others................and fool themselves.................that they very rich - not affected by inflation if they stop eating there - they feel like they had gone down the social ladder............
It is the same with cars in SG. I have a few acquaintances who would not be seen dead riding on public transport, so they buy 8 or 9-year-old used cars on the cheap with new plates to give the impression that they are new vehicles.

Based on current prices, we have reached the day when only the top earners are able to possess a set of 4 wheels. This will in fact make car ownership even more attractive to those who can afford it owing to the enhanced snob appeal.

Hahaha
Singkie deserve to be fucked.
Even your HDB is so Fucking expensive and now the Peasant food costs you $7.40 per set.

Hahaha. Singkie deserve it
That is why 80% sinki live in Hardland Pigeon Hole mah

$7.40 is good value-for-money from a good quality meal from Toastbox, a brand name synonymous with BreadTalk.

It is only good value for the pampared well heeled & NOT for majority of our citizens.

Many of our citizens, from the PM to the toilet cleaner, would be able to afford that mere $7.40cts for one meal. But is it worth it???

We are building a pragmatic & intelligent society, to evolve & progress. It would need much money to be circulated to progress, but it must only be for the necessary, so that such hard earned funds can be used to spend for other purposes that would give VALUE to oneself & to society & NOT goes into the pocket of biz entities whom deemed Singaporeans as fools.

To be pragmatic, how much does a Kaya Toast actually costs IF home made?

$4.00 worth of a bottle of Kaya can be bought at Sheng Siong Supermarket, which would be capable of at least 20 servings.
$2.00 worth of bread bought at a similar place would be able to have 10 servings.
$4.00 worth of butter bought at a similar place would be able to have similar 10 servings upon bread both sides buttered.
$0.05 cts of electrical costs to toast the bread per meal.
$0.02cts of water costs to wash up after each meal.

In total, it would only cost an est. $10 to serve a family of four of kaya toast for 5 days, which costs $2/day for a family of four, or $0.50cts for EACH individual at home, with economy of scale in place.

For a family of four, it would be a savings of $6.90cts per person per meal. 30 such breakfast meals per month at toastbox would be $207, or $2,484/yr....Think about it, of what a family of four could spend instead on...

Biz entities need to up their costs in order to survive, but basing on economy of scale, establishments that extravagantly charges such high costs for a simple meal is merely taking citizens as fools.
