It was most tragic and unnecessary that 5 young lives were lost in that Tanjong Pagar speeding accident.
So far, much attention have been focused on the High Speed Racing Cars (HSRC) on our roads. As a person with many years of driving experience, I feel that we must go beyond that and address some basic issues if we really hope to make our roads safer for all users.
Any vehicle in the hands of an irresponsible, speeding or reckless driver can kill. Even a speeding PMD could maim and even take lives too.
Generally speaking, today’s younger generation, despite their better education and better standards of living are a more selfish, self-centred, inconsiderate, self-entitled and ill-brought up lot compared to people from their parents' and grandparents' generations. A generation of people who had much less but behaved much more humanly and better.
There is no doubt in my mind that this is the result of the failed PAP's so called ‘world class education’ and we as a society is paying the price.
