The government directory does not provide you with details on our intel agencies. The only way to know is to be in it or get someone to smuggle out the internal telephone directory. That botak Siew Kum Hong may also be ISD agent. He very interesting and rose to become sort of titan among intellectuals critical of the government. I remember during his NMP term, he sibeh hiong always urged for more democracy, transparency, freedom of speech and expression, film censorship and repealing gay sex law. That botak joined Maruah as a founding member when he was still NMP in 2007. Remember that Maruah was started under the auspices of ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission for Human Rights. Also interesting was that he did all these while still keeping his job as a legal counsel. He got good boss man. Credit to him, he has said controversial things smartly and always within very flexible reason so as not to get himself into trouble. Yet say so much and didn't get into trouble?

Recently from Wikileaks, that botak was listed as a "protect" source of the Yankees giving his piece on political development in Sinkieland. Is he Yankee agent? Or sent in as trap by ISD as ISD knows Yankees want to recruit lawyers like Francis Seow's time?

Siew Kum Hong was a handful for the govt especially when he started the poll on the dead MP's representation in Bukit Batok. This was followed by high profile intervention in the Aware saga which did not go well with conservatives and they complained. Thought he was effective his term was not renewed as expected but the term of a nice looking chick who is a lounge singer was renewed.

Maurah does do some good such as their watchdog approach to press coverage for all parties by the press but on the whole it is effective as a used condom with some genuine do-gooders such as Braeme Mathi etc. She was the one who was first to expose TT Durai and NKF as a fraud in parliament which the then Minister of Health ignored

Serious and mature people and companies will readily bring abroad good intelligent and smart people and are prepared to allow company time to do "citizenship" activities. In nearly all MNC, "civil, community and citizenship" activities are now a requirement for PDs.

If you are a reputable company would you not want a high profile "david" taking on a "goliath " to enhance your firm's reputation. Rajah and Tann business boomed tremendously because of their heritage and the fact that they are prepared to take on the Govt. One of their founders went to jail for his beliefs. The govt now poaches these independent thinkers to provide credibility to be a global player. The one who went to jail now has a son who is no. 2 in the judiciary.

Would reputable company employ anyone from SDP? I am sure the answer is no. No because they are anti-Govt but they are not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.

I doubt any intelligence agencies have apt handlers to turn over a person like Siew Kum Hong. They would however approach him, identify themselves and tell him to inform them if foreign elements step in and start playing games. I am sure he would do the right thing.

Wikileaks on Singapore are usual traffic and not the one that go thru secured links. Even if you spoke to them, they will use the same term. It is also possible that intel officers, in this case potentially CIA, ISD or SID spoke to SKH on a regular basis. What these IOs would do is to return to office to put up File Notes on their meeting with SKH.

IA chaps could be their 1st Sec, Attache, legit bizman in S'pore etc. SID far more likely to use their contacts to touch base with SKH. Ditto ISD.

Not easy to handle an intelligent chap like SKH. The person handling him, if any, needs to be his equal or more intelligent than him. Hard to find.

Don't know if botak is ISD source or Yankee source or both, but such intricate relations don't develop over night and if you watch infernal affairs the cultivation could be months or years starting with simple questions and tasks.

wikileaks documents were quite some years ago, given his prominence now he would be a plum cheery for the picking.

Francis Seow is not a spy. He was persuaded to run for elections with the an US residence as Insurance if all hell breaks lose. The same offer was made to few others. Hendrikson was an overzealous chap trying to introduce democracy to people living on "trees" as he thought.

All respectable opposition identities, including elected and non elected individuals are approached by various foreign embassies, MNC, Think Tanks etc. on a regular basis for their views, to make presentations, or take part in discussions. These are not subversive activities. We are not exactly North Korea. We are high capitalist where the economy is concerned.

Frankly Siew Kum Hong has no access to anything and is of a little value to foreign countries. He does not sit on any military tender committee, or any meaningful govt entity. He is also not financially strapped like Francis Seow. FS was continually get into financial strap from day one, long before he ever entered politics. His girlfriend used to pay his bills.

Siew Kum Hong is least likely to used by any individual let alone a foreign entity.

For the record, one PAP MP was found working for Special Branch and one opposition candidates who stood unsuccessfully for parliament was also funded by Special Branch.

lol this assessment of double standards largely true. the sad joke is that miw, the ones with connections in the government, are let off and one eye closed while the opposition and those outside the system with little or no connections in the government, are hounded two eyes open.
