BTW, it used to be that the pap govt forbade civil servants to gamble and womanise. those were Civil Service ethos and guidelines and the civil servants of the past, if they gambled or womanised. did so discreetly.

But nowadays, I met top civil servants openly gambling at casinos without fear nor shame. Is this the new SG civil service? can gamble and womanise openly?

Back to gambling...I was on a holiday to NZ...went to Christchurch and Queenstown...there are casinos and visitors to the casinos...but they dont benhave and gambling like gamblers at Genting..who are addicts.

The ang mohs seem to take the casinos as recreation and were leisurely abt
the betting .

There's a difference between gambling and gaming, womanising and socialising. I don't advocate gambling and womanising. But occasionally in US, Australia and Malaysia, I do game a bit at casinos. And occasionally, I do go out with women other than my wife as my date. There's nothing hanky panky to hide as long as one keeps a clean clear mind.

I agree...absolutely nothing wrong with socialising. In fact it's good for a senior civil servant to have good social skills..but I am talking abt womanising, not socialising..it's a big difference between womanising and socialising.
