Who's fault?
Many people fault.
Pap. Food delivery companies. The tam chia customers and the delivery slaves.
Everyone get a % of the fault.
Security guard not at fault becos think about this, if everyone do the same, their guard house will become a food stall.

Food delivery is now common & such provides JOBS to many, at least in the short term to earn an honest living. There will be 'teething' issues with this relatively new industry. First, let's figuratively step into the shoes of each & walk a mile, to understand such issues.

A)The delivery man:-

He had been offered an honest task, paid for, & is responsible to perform his task, as best as he could, with limited time to wait for customers whom may be engaged in other activities to respond immediately.

B)The CONDO security guard

His job is to perform his ROLE, to provide security as PER WRITTEN expectations by the Condo MCST. (Management Corporation Strata Title) Most rules are that the Security Post is to maintain security, & is NOT a post office. Condos do provide post box for parcels, & Singpost personnel are allowed into the premise to deliver any parcel or post after security guards' checks to deliver mail or parcels to owners.

However, food delivery is a new innovation - it comes in all shapes & sizes that would not fit into such Condo mail boxes, nor have access to the keys such mail boxes. Thus the customer of such food services MUST be present at the guard house, or at least AUTHORIZATION from the Condo owner thru telephone communications to allow the food delivery man in.

Without such, the security guard is only doing his duty, to reject such goods, & is only BLINDLY FOLLOWING THE LAW from MCST bylaws, but based upon the situation in the viral video, perhaps better foresight should had been exercised by both the food delivery personnel & the security guard, to AVOID unpleasantness, or even being SUED, as if suing others over petty matters can resolve issues.... .


Solution:-

Condo units are bought at millions of dollars each, & each month, each Condo owner would have to pay monthly maintenance charges, from hundreds to even thousands. With such funds, could not the MCST create an alternative to simple small mail boxes, such as tray collection booths at public food centers, for food parcels near the guardhouse?

It need not be in locker form, as keys will be needed for such, but c'mon, Condo inhabitants are not thieves that they would stoop to stealing another's few dollars worth of food, more so with security cameras recording on its own even without the guard's attention, everywhere even at the guardhouse?

As such food parcels are often packed & sealed, it would attract no vermin or pest, thus it endangers none, & after all, MCST do provide daily area cleaning services as part of their paid duty, thus such food parcels collection centers would be cleaned regularly to ensure hygiene.

Ultimately, it is about problem RESOLUTION. Each has a role to play in society, more so those of management level, to resolve issues than to allow situations develop for others to KBKB....

To build a better tomorrow or even the day, it begins with each of us, from all levels of society. Keep calm always & never allow personal stress to decide on pertaining issues on hand. Why spoil a beautiful day, when within ourselves, we do have the abilities taught since young to achieve happiness than to stress oneself out, more so over small petty matters? Life is too short to waste on pettiness...

The resolution only can involve extra cost. Only money can solve this problem. You pay the extra to the slaves they will be more tolerant to get it done more properly with all the expected hurdles.

and everyday eat outside food will have long term damage to your health because the sodium content is very high, so most likely many will end up having stroke or heart attack due to sodium generated high blood pressure, not mentioning the sugar that these hawkers add to their food preparation too. it's a slow poison that will eventually manifest as stroke or heart attack in due course...

The insignificant nobody me understands your comments, as well as health concerns in latter post, although it must be said that MOH thru health research & studies, had cooperation from the food industry to cut down on MSG & fats as best as the food caterers could while earning a sustainable living, here in Singapore.

Perhaps...not everyone is as fortunate as you. It takes all kinds to make up our World, & one must never ever think that one is the center of Earth where lives revolves around, meaning no offence meant to you - to be self centered.

Some may be introverts, some may want to avoid crowds & queues, some may even have MOBILITY issues, & thus, at the least, they still have freedom of choice & FREE WILL, to make their own decisions, thru this new honest way of earning a living innovation from providers, even temporary to simply tide over rough times in life, as hawker centers had became, even of heritage status now, & copied upon by other fellow Humankind & Civilizations Worldwide.....
