No, COE is just another excuse for the garmen to take money from its people.
It should be seen as a form of punishment.![]()
Buy car, pay COE.
Drive car, pay ERP.
A very ironic reply.
The people elect the government, but the government punishes them for electing them.
Interesting!!
COE is not a tax but a sale of a limited resource, the right of space.
W/o COE ERP, Singapore will have massive jams and pollution everywhere.
The real question is, do you have an altenative?
SMLJ?? With COE we still have massive Jams and pollution. Are you going to say that without COE it's going to be worse?
Alternative is in our so called world crass pubic transport, but have to accept all the breakdown and what not.
Seriously, lets call a spade a spade. Fact is we let in too many foreign trash at a very fast pace and now we're caught with our pants down.
To move forward, they (the garmen) have to acknowledge that they screwed up, and start working on putting things right, not getting a bigger carpet to cover the previous one.
Clearly you have never been to KL, Bangkok, Manila and Jakarta my friend.
I suggest you take a trip to KL and watch their traffic there.
